Congratulations to the Seahawks fans! (1 Viewer)

FWIW, I never complain about calls not going my team's way, and never will. I have never seen a professional team sporting event decided by bad calls and never will, and that applies to college football as well. If your team loses, it's because your team either wasn't good enough or didn't play well enough to win- period. True fans don't whine.

As a Lakers fan and a Steelers fan, I have been forced to endure the whiny complaints of the fans of the Sacramento Kings and the Seattle Seahawks. Not sure which group was more embarrassing.
You're so naive.

It is so easy for a referee to influence a game in basketball or football. Do you honestly believe that in the last 50 years there hasn't been a referee that might have been on the take or might have had an allegiance to one team over the other?

With holding on every single play, with hand checking on almost every single pass, do you realize how easy it is to influence a game. If a team is marching down the field, all you need to do is call a hold on a 2nd and 7 play to make it 2nd and 17. Usually that's enough to stop them in their tracks. Only a much superior team can overcome one-sided officiating. If the teams are anywhere close in skill, it will only take a couple calls to influence a game.

All you can hope for is that borderline calls even out over the course of a game.

Most boring SB ever? Congrats to SEA fans, but turned this off at halftime. Just checked the score after clearing the DVR. Wow, what a colossal disappointment for FOX. Wonder how many viewers like myself left at halftime and didn't come back?

What is the unit to rack conversion rate?ETA: If you really did lose $13k, I'm not trying to break balls, sorry.

I'm a Steelers fan and I'm not ashamed in the least. Even if you think there was a bad call that went against Seattle, you have no way of knowing how the game would have played out if the call had gone the other way.
And that's how you should approach it. I think Steelers fans like Godsbro and Tim that seem to want to defend the Steelers feel some sort of guilt over it. Steelers have six Super Bowls, why even make the effort to engage the discussion?
I have no feelings of guilt whatsoever but I never like it when people complain about perceived bad calls. Bad calls are part of the game and anyone that expects an NFL game not to have blown or bad calls is kidding themselves. Also many of the calls people think are blown calls are borderline calls that had they gone against their opponent they would have no problem with (complaining about a holding call for instance).
:ptts:

Guilt is streaming out of your veins right now instead of blood. Seattle got jobbed, everyone knows it and most of us let it go. Except you and Tim who have to hear yourselves talk to make you feel better about winning that game.

Keep on truckin, dumb homer.
I posted Congrats in the Shark Pool and will do so here. Thought you were better than this though.

I thoroughly enjoy a good blowout.

There was no ref call or bounce of the ball that impacted the game in any way. There was no luck component. One team thoroughly dominated the other leaving little to no debate that the best team won the Superbowl this season.

Anymore this is somewhat rare for the NFL to accomplish because of their 1-off playoff format and the fact that they accept too many teams into the playoffs.

But bravo for doing it this season.
