I hope everybody posts theirs. I'm not playing as I'm going away for a week soon and really don't want to commit to anything, but I do want to follow along and listen to the choices when I can.

For @Dan Lambskin

Fantastic Planet -- Failure
Fast Stories...From Kid Coma -- Truly. This one is not on Spotify, so use this Youtube playlist: https://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PLQ_pRrkd1b4r7Zw5ycVWvTm5ouEcnvd79
Zen Arcade -- Hüsker Dü
Source Tags & Codes -- ...And You Will Know Us by the Trail of Dead
Dayglo -- Love Battery

If you have already heard any of these, let me know and I'll find a replacement.

I'd give these lists a go for fun. Doc's and IB's sound cool also. This one is probably more up my alley, but they have two or three each that I'd like to check out.

The Rise and Fall of Ziggy Stardust and the Spiders From Mars - Overall ranking ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Strong, cohesive album with strong thematic connections

Five Years ⭐⭐⭐ - a little screamy for my tastes, but a strong opener
Soul Love ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - "Idiot love will spark the fusion" 🤩
Moonage Daydream ⭐⭐1/2 - I zoned out a little on this one.
Starman ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - A classic favorite.
It Ain't Easy ⭐⭐ / ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Two ratings. First as part of the album, from which it felt discordant. Second is for the song solo. I enjoyed it.
Lady Stardust ⭐⭐⭐1/2 - "Its alllllllllllright"
Star ⭐⭐1/2 - zoned out again
Hang On To Yourself ⭐⭐⭐⭐1/2 - This one got me back. Might be my favorite
Ziggy Stardust ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - love the classic guitar riff to open
Suffragette City ⭐⭐⭐⭐ - Also a classic. Remember this one well.
Rock N Roll Suicide ⭐⭐⭐1/2 - Strong thematic finish. Didn't enjoy the song as much as the three predecessors.

Bowie is Bowie. A legend for a reason. Excellent album start to finish. The Hang Onto Yourself through Suffragette City trio was my favorite bit.

@Mt. Man - could you pm your list. I think i have ideas, but want a full picture if your tastes in the countdown. I can do the same if you like.
Sure, I'll do that when I get home from work. Feel free to PM me first and I can look over things
My tastes are pretty flexible and the MAD countdowns have brought forth a lot of great new experiences. The hard part for you will be finding albums you haven't already listened to. Worst case I throw a bunch of super obscure artists. Only partially kidding there since I'm sure I could find things that I think you'd enjoy.

Ok - I have watched Hamilton on Disney + but have not listened to the album. I know some of the Yaz songs but haven't listened in years.

The rest are brand new (well I know some Fogelberg)

Sounds good- my lean is to force a couple albums from my MAD31 artists on you, as I THINK you have liked a couple of them. But i also confuse usernames and avatars a lot.

If you've already listened to any of them, let me know and I'll pull some others. While you listed some that peak my interest, I'd rather you pick my 5. I'll let you know if I'm already familiar with them and all I ask is no Rush - I've found one song of theirs in which I can get past the vocal (it's not a single) and I'll be very...very surprised if you can find another.

@Mrs. Rannous did you post your 70 albums? It would help me figure out which directions to go for suggestions. If you want my list, let me know, but I am also ok with you just winging it.

@Pip's Invitation go with these. If you need a replacement let me know

DeStijl- The White Stripes

Cure for Pain - Morphine

Antipop - Primus

We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sank - Modest Mouse

Existential Reckoning- Puscifer
I have heard DeStijl so I will need a replacement for that. Have not heard the other four in their entirety.
How about Clutch by Clutch. I’d say it’s more stoner rock than metal with some funky grooves

This is great - I’ll know the bigger white stripes and chemical romance songs but haven’t listened to those full albums before. The other three should be mostly new to me. Have you posted your list so I can make sure to give you something newish?

That's fine. I know some people that really dig them.

I'm not going to commit to the 5 album thing, but I would love people to recommend their picks for any artists I have not posted in this thread.
Centro-Matic - Love You Just the Same

RIYL Jason Isbell, DBT, Magnolia Electric co

Indian Summer - Carbon Leaf

I had never even heard of this band.

I'm not a huge indie pop fan, but this band leaned a little into the indie folk realm, as well, which I do enjoy. There was a funky undertone to some of the early songs but was phased out as the album went along. I feel like everything sounded familiar but new at the same time. I could probably throw the name of five bands together that I could then morph into Carbon Leaf.

My favorites were "This Is My Song", "Paloma", "When I'm Alone" and "Raise the Roof" (had a Decemberist feel to it).

My one criticism would be the vocalist is a little too weak voiced for me - he sounds fine, but his delivery is a little soft which is common in the genre.

Overall, it was a very enjoyable record. I can't promise that I would return to it, but it's something I surely wouldn't mind hearing again so it's possible. Solid album.

Neither of these albums were in my top 70 but both were in my first tier of cuts. They both seem to be in your wheelhouse:

The Graceless Age - John Murry

Curve of Earth - Ohtis

I find them to be more indie folk with a Gaelic bent.
Interesting that you picked out songs I like but missed all three of my favorites from the album.
If I had to pick a favorite, it would be One Prairie Highway

The Dirty South - Drive By Truckers
I'd describe this band as what happens if the Travelling Wilburies had a baby, that baby married the Gin Blossoms and had a baby, that baby moved to deep woods Tennessee and bought amps and guitars.
I'm not a fan of country, so no real surprise that my least favorite songs on the album were the twangier ones. You can also probably define which songs I'm more apt to like by the performer.
I enjoy Jason Isbell's vocals. I did not enjoy Mike Cooley's vocals and I'm 50/50 on the songs Patterson Hood sings (and the ones where Jason Isbell provides the backing vocals, I liked more)

Favorites: Danko/Manuel, The Night John Henry Died, and God**** Lonely Love

Much like Dr. Oct's feelings about Indian Summer, I'm not sure I'd seek this one out again (though it might make me check out Jason Isbell and the 400 Unit), but I wouldn't change the channel if it came on.
