Converting CBS Scoring to Decimal Format (1 Viewer)

I commish 2 CBS leagues and we want to convert to decimal scoring. There is no simple "check the box" to do this within the CBS "Scoring Setup" mode. I presume that if I go through the various yardage categories and simply change "1 pt per 10 yds" to "0.1 pt per 1 yd" that this will effectuate the change.

Before I do this just wanted some confirmation from other CBS Commish's that the change is as simple as I've described above and that this won't create some other unintended problems (which I have run into in the past upon making what I thought were minor tweaks to the CBS scoring systems).

Thank you much in advance.

It has been quite a while since I had commish powers at a CBS site, but isn't their a button to immediately see the results of the change? So if you mess it up you can change it right back?

You can test your scoring system at the bottom of the scoring page during setup. I dont use decimals but you can try it, see if it works and like bottom feeders said change it back if it didnt work

Nothing to worry about. I made the change in my league last year and eveything worked fine. Just do the decimal change as you mentioned.

agreed. the site lets you test your scoring based on hypothetical game stats that you input.

Holy crap, I just received an e-mail from one of the owners suggesting this same thing. We are on CBS as well and I had the same question.

It was suggested to reduce ties and the need for tiebreakers. I think we're going to move forward with it.

Need some help here though; we score 1/25 yds passing. I'm horrible with math; is .1/2.5 yds passing correct? :bag:

I use .2 for 5 yards (which I THINK is what most others do) - same thing, just a "real factor"

For the question in the first post - yes, you are correct and it is that simple. For the passing questions, we use .04 points for every 1 yard passing (same points as 1/25). It's more "precise", but you then have scoring to 2 decimal places. Definitely makes ties less likely. Just another idea.....

PERFECT; thank you!

Our league is on sportsline and set up as decimal scoring. Its a pain in the ### but can be done and it works great
