The expectation is that the Lions will tag him. The Lions do not want to lose this guy.

I've heard a couple of "experts" on the radio talk about how Redding might be a little overrated and will not live up to the contract he will be looking for. I thought he looked pretty solid though as a pass rusher.
As far as replacing Spears in Dallas as mentioned above, has he really bombed that badly in Dallas? I haven't been following the Cowboys too closely.

Redding is franchised, and they are working on a long term deal. I personally think they get something done, but the locals say its slightly better than 50-50 (no link). He should be dominant playing the under tackle position in the lions cover 2, next to Shaun Rogers.

That IS good news. Man, Redding and Rogers could really be a great DT tandem this year.I just noticed Redding is now listed as a DT in my MFL league where we start separate DTs and DEs.
