Why in the world did coughlin throw the ball on 3rd and 11 from the 36 yard line? Why not run the ball to get a few more yards for Feely, a very inaccurate FG kicker. After Feely's miss, Im pretty sure everyone knows what happened.

Being they were down by four at the time, what they needed was a touchdown. So passing on 3rd and 11 they were trying to get a firstdown in the hopes of eventually getting the TD. The mistake is he should have punted on 4th not try the FG to put them down 1.

:goodposting: Everyone I was watching the game with was shocked when Feely walked out on the field for the long try. Considering the swirling winds, Feely's accurancy and distance problems this year in general and specifically in this game (missed a ~33 yarders earlier and his kickoffs were short all night) it seemed like trying to pin the Bears back was a much better idea especially considering the Giants have an excellent directional punter in Feagles.

Yup. Madden was talking a play or two before the FG that they were in Feely's range but I didn't think they were at all given the conditions. And granted, nobody could've seen the Hester play coming - the Giants sure as hell didn't - but the smart play on fourth down there was to punt and try to lean on your defense given how close the game was. I too was stunned when Feely came out for the FG attempt. That was a real bad decision by Coughlin.
