What % of gross income are people dropping on the fees?
Mine would be less than 2% at current income level, if I do the full membership with golf. Probably less than 1% if I skip on the golf membership. Seems reasonable.
Long Island clubs are, generally speaking, really hurting for members. Just know the year 3 price will be a multiple of year 1.ETA: is there a food/beverage minimum? That's the other hidden aspect.

Good question, I don't know. I don't think this is a super swanky or exclusive one -- some of my wife's friends in our age group (probably young-ish for these places) are members, so I don't think it's super expensive by comparison to others. But yeah, there could be some other stuff built in.

Truthfully, I could do without the golf, and do without the uppity rich folks -- I just really like the idea of a nice pool and beach with food service and stuff for the kids to do. Basically, I just want a pass to get drunk by the water on a Saturday.
