I knew this offense would take a hit with TO being hurt, but this is ridiculous. All the credit to Washington's defense, but the Cowboys are just plain out of synch. Romo has looked horrible. They haven't been able to run the ball. I'm officially worried upon entering the playoffs. At least with the bye it gives TO an extra week to heal, but if he can't get healthy I think any of the other five teams in the NFC playoffs (assuming Washington gets in) could knock the Boys off right now. Thoughts?

I have to agree. The Cowboys, should they not play significantly better, will lose in two weeks. Luckily for us, there is no team in the NFC that isn't significantly flawed, either.

NFC belongs to ANYBODY. Gotta consider Green Bay the favorite, but they are not that great either.

Definitely looks like parity has come to the NFC. I thought Dallas and GB would run away with it a few weeks ago. But then GB gets owned by CHI and DAL has looked poor three straight weeks. MINN was supposedly hot and played themselves right out of the playoffs. It's going to be a matter of who brings their A game on any given day. And then goes on to lose to the AFC in the SB. I don't think the NFC has a chance in hell right now the way these teams are playing.

They lose 1 game to Philly, play so so in Carolina, and then lose a meaningless game with 3 pro bowlers out and we are in trouble? Chicken littles. Are they unbeatable...HELL NO. This is the way over reaction the other way.

Just my 0.02.

Romo has been playing shaky for over a month. Here's to hoping he pulls his head out of you know where in time for the playoffs

:) 13-3 is a very, very good year. They are 3-2 over the last five weeks. So is Green Bay, so is Seattle, so is New York. Tampa Bay is 2-3. No one is perfect in the NFC, everyone has warts.Get TO and Gurode back. The offense will look a lot like itself again. Get Newman and Ratliff back. The D steps up. I trust in Jason Garrett and Wade Phillips. I believe in the Jedi Master Romo.It is still good to be a Cowboy fan right now.

:) They held their own IN Dallas missing 4-5 starters. Hammered the Rams in St. Louis. Looked like crap vs the Bears, and hammered Detroit today.

I'm not saying they are the favorite in the NFC, but to say they were owned by Dallas, and played poorly 3 straight weeks is wrong. Sounds like someone who hasn't watched many games.

Don't get me wrong, they've got as good a chance as anybody, but yeah, that's about it.NFC playoffs.. gethcha :) ready

He is missing a comma. 1. GB gets owned by Chi.

2. Dal has looked poor three straight weeks.

Two thoughts there.

I'm trying to stay positive and not overreact but Romo has looked bad for three weeks now. He is having a hard time throwing a spiral, and missing guys who are wide open. The defence isn't stoping anyone on third down right now either, notwithstanding the valid point that Reeves is a sharp downgrade from Newman.Bottom line, they are playing their worst football of the season heading into the playoffs. If Newman and T.O. can't go, forget about it.

As a follow up, I think Romo's thumb is more of an issue than he is letting on, based on the way he has been throwing the ball the last three weeks.

To be fair, his WR corps has really let him down. He had a sure TD in the making that was just dropped today. Without TO, this offense is brutal...

I think alot of people are doing some overreacting. TO, Guorode and Newman will all be in the lineup for the playoff game. The NFC is up for grabs, if the Cowboys play well I like their chances. If they play like they have been the past month they will lose. Its pretty simple.

I would agree, but he hasn't been throwing the ball well lately, and certainly not the way he was earlier in the season where he was firing bullets into tight spaces. He has been inconsistent at best in the last quarter of the season.

It is. It made me laugh a couple weeks ago when someone said that Witten was more valuable to the Cowboys than TO. TO opens everything for this team and his loss is devastating.

Phillips said Owens is iffy for the playoff game...I think it is pretty serious.

No way he is 100% when he comes back.

This is correct.

Seems like Romo is having another late season slump like last year, though this year he does have an injury that may be the cause. Hope he doesnt have to hold for any extra points down the road.

Not if they have to travel to Dallas. Favre and Green Bay don't know how to win there. If TO is healthy then I think Dallas makes it to the Super Bowl.

Don't forget Glenn will be back and probably 100% by the time they play. He didn't look bad today. They will get their timing back during practices. I don't think there is a favorite in the NFC now.

I honestly don't think that the team has been into it for the past few weeks. They basically knew that they didn't have anything to play for, and lost their drive. I am sure that after the bye week, with our starters back healthy, we will get that ball rolling again. I am not worried, and we need the week off.

 Based on the 37-27 game earlier this year, when Favre got hurt...or going back 8 years? Those are the only 2 times the two have played each other in Dallas in the last 10 years - I'd hardly call that a trend. No offense to Dallas, but their offense looked out of sync something fierce. They had 1 net yard rushing today. ONE. They were 0 for 11 on 3rd downs. And if I had to choose between Favre and Romo in a big game, I'll take #4.The way Dallas has played recently, they will be lucky to make it to the point where they play Green Bay.

They didn't have anything to play for? You mean when they were battling for home field advantage and dropped the game to the Eagles? Yea, that home field advantage thing was nuthin'. But I hope the Dallas players feel EXACTLY the way you do. Because that's the attitude that would have them sitting home after their first playoff game.

I actually like our chances better in Dallas. Our offense is obviously built around the pass and it's hard to do that in brutal cold and wind. (see Chicago) Sure the crowd will be tough, but Brett couldn't win in Minny either before the last couple years.

:hifive: Up until last week they had everything to play for. Not sure what you mean..

If Dallas has to play their game without TO, Newman, Guorode and Ratcliff then they are in trouble. Its hard to win a playoff game without the best offensive weapon and best Corner.

Yep. Kind of how we felt when we played you guys without our Pro Bowl corner, pro bowl TE, run stuffer (Pickett), and our HOF QB..

Why did you leave out the fact that Wash has gone 4-0.

Everyone knows the streak Washington is on right now. I was simply mentioning what the division champs had done over the last month plus and threw the Giants in there as well. Everone seemed to be harping on Dallas loosing a couple of games and felt it was a good parallel to show what the other playoff teams had done.No disrespect to the Redskins.

WASH managed to win without their starting QB, All-Pro safety and several lineman.

Well....I like the Cowboys chances with TO/Witten/Glenn/Crayton in the slot. Newman will slow down Moss a little. I'll take my chances on the Cooley match up vs our LB's and safties. The Cowboys could not have played any more vanilla last night. The defense was OK for the start but without any support from the offense gave up some points with our 3rd and 4th corners on the field. The Offense game plan last nite-No motion, no shirting. Hey Wash...yes that is exactly what you'll see in 2 weeks (wink). All basic runs and short pass patterns. We led the league in completions over 20 yards and maybe attempted 3-4 yarders the whole game.

I hope the Skins do beat Seattle and come in as over confident as their fans.

Cowboys won't kill them, but I would expect a 27-17 type of score.

Edit....Oh and if Smoot keeps biting on the double moves...Glenn and TO could score at will.

:excited: Best posting-to-date. Gotta be a P1. Too much knee-jerking going on around here. Dallas is in the driver's seat, have 2 weeks for a bum thumb to heal, get all of the Pro Bowlers back on the field, Jason Garrett to add new wrinkles into this offense that nobody has seen all year with both T.O. and Terry Glenn back on the field...together. We'll see more of Marion Barber and less of Julius Jones. I would even venture to say Barber will start for the first time. He's a Pro Bowler and expected back next year, while Jones is not. Let's not forget about this year's best TE in the league in Jason Witten either. Whether it be Tampa Bay, the Giants, or the Redskins that show up in two weeks is of no consequence whatsoever. All they have to do is focus on preparing themselves to play a home playoff game. They are familiar enough with division foes Giants and Redskins. Tampa Bay?...c'mon. How many players on their defense can you name without looking it up? That's what I thought. Bill Parcells and Jimmy Johnson used to say that you break down any season into four quarters. While the fourth quarter was admittedly abysmal, it's also over. It's a new season now, and you can be rest assured that we'll see the Cowboys of the first three quarters in two weeks. Rested, healed, prepared, and most importantly...inspired. If you'd like to bet against them, put your money in an envelope and send it to me. That way, I can buy a ticket to the NFC Championship and give you a live report from Texas Stadium. Any takers?

Get out of here with that "anyone can win the NFC" stuff. TB, NY and Washington have exactly zero chance of getting to the SB.
Washington no chance? Hilarious..Have you watched any football lately? :excited:
Hilarious is the part where TODD COLLINS is their QB.
You mean Todd Collins who has a passer rating of 106.4 so far in 2007 with 3 TDs and 0 INTs in the last 3 games? As a point of comparison, Romo in the last 3 games has had 1 TD and 5 picks. You mean Todd Collins who threw for 244 yards and a TD in the rain against the Cowboys? What exactly is hillarious?

They also had a tab more motivation to win that game dont ya think? lolIt didnt matter what Dallas starters were in the game, it was apparent their heart wasnt in it.
