Crazy offseason Predictions - I'll start (1 Viewer)

Post them here if you are so inclined. I deem this a "bumpable" thread if you turn out to be correct.

Mine currently:

1. Favre to Jacksonville - Closer to his house and gives him a chance at a winner. The Jags are a 8-10 win team with Garrard or Leftwich. No doubt they would delight in having Favre and no doubt he would delight in playing for a team that can contend. I've thought through most every team in the league and the only place I can see #4 going for his last hurrah is Jacksonville, as they are the only non-West Coast team that can be considered a contender but doesn't have solid QB play.

2. Chris Brown to Houston - Beating Indy probably takes Houston out of the Adrian Peterson race. And while Brown may not be the best of the best available, nor may he be the best guy for the Texans system, he will view Houston as a place where he can grab playing time.

3. Asante Samuel to Tennessee - They need another starting corner in the worst way, and they have money.

4. Jerry Porter to Tampa - Reunited with Gruden.

5. Randy Moss to Atlanta

6. Terrell Owens out of football for a season. The Cowboys will cut him and he'll lay out a year before coming back.

7. David Carr to Oakland - ...and it keeps getting worse for both parties.

this is a cool thread.. wishes? or Guesses?

I would LOVE to see Moss, and TO in ATL...

.

would like to see Millen and Marinelli gone, Martz in control, maybe leftwich in Detroit..he is acurate (isn't he?), and the short routes, would support it

Detroit Trades down a bunch of times, ends up with Kenny Irons, Brohm, and a few OL in Trade...

  :( With TO getting a ton of targets in Dallas and STILL whining, what do you think he would be like alongside Randy Moss? Whom would also command balls thrown his way.

That, my friend, would be a nightmare!

Matt Millen gets fired (not crazy)

Gregg Williams "finds another job" with a team other than the Redskins

Fred Taylor to Denver

Plaxico Burress to the Dallas Cowboys. Parcells and Jones want to try yet another troubled WR to see if they can get to the Super Bowl, and the G-men are done with Burress' antics and attitude.

moss reunites with culpepper and gives them a team of

qb culpepper

rb brown

wr chambers

wr moss

te mcmichael

ect...

As a Dolphin fan I would shoot myself

Favre wouldn't come back for another year if they use their first-round pick to acquire his replacement instead of addressing other concerns.

Shouldn't Jeff Garcia get a shot at starting again somewhere?

If they could find a reciever, he could be a good fit for the Vikings maybe?

Only if Coughlin stays which I doubt. Toomer is done, Sinorice Moss hasn't had the opportunity to show anything and after that the cupboard is not exactly brimming with talent.Chris Brown to New York to take the Lightning role to Brandon Jacobs' ThunderMichael Turner to stay in SD on a one year tenderDrew Bledsoe to NY as back up to ManningRon Dayne to be the starter in HOU, DD if healthy 3rd down back.Titans resign Bennett and Henry - Reese/Fischer and the coordinators all stay (provided DC not offered HC job) The Denver Bronco RB situation is clear cut (yeah I know - totally unrealistic)NO tries to deal Deuce but price is too high.

NO tries to deal Deuce but price is too high.
Why would NO try and trade McAllister? He and Reggie Bush are a dynamic 1-2 punch that have the potential to terrorize opposing defenses for years. I know FF owners hate it because of the RBBC approach, but I am guessing the Saints organization couldn't care less about that.

This is the crazy predictions thread, right? They could believe that they could get the same as Deuce cheaper (which they would care about) and it would be tremedously ironic (which they couldn't care about)

The Broncos' starting running back next year is currently not on their roster.

I wonder what it would cost for them to bring in someone like Thomas Jones.

1. Favre doesn't play in GB. Maybe retires, maybe somewhere else but not in GB.

2. Schaub starts next year somewhere. Who knows, it could be in Atlanta.

3. Titans get the "wow" factor in free agency. They have at least $48mm to deal with as well as 11 draft picks. Asante Samuel or Nate Clements -- Titans WILL sign one of these guys. They'll also sign one of these as DE: Justin Smith, Jared Allen, KGB (down year, but can rejuvenate), maybe even Adalius Thomas (can convert easily IMO and would be tremendous). Will draft a safety and WR.

4. Charlie Weis to the Giants...or Cowboys.

5. Chris Brown to Houston or Giants.

6. Garcia stays in Philly, as he should.

7. Ron Rivera to coach the Steelers if The Chin leaves.

8. Nick Saban...gone.

9. Jake Plummer to Houston.

10. If Brohm declares for the draft, expect Bobby Petrino to the NFL. He may go anyway. (Dallas?)

That's my opinion, ought to be yours.

Because you don't want to put a large portion of your cap space at one position. It's one thing if the backup is making 2-3 million per year, but when he's making 6-7 million per year...

Drew Bledsoe finds a new team and makes the Pro Bowl

Art Shell stays at Oakland and guides the team to the playoffs

Cleveland makes the playoffs

Troy Williamson makes a catch

Vince Young has a REALLY bad 2nd year

so does Maurice Jones-Drew

Arizona makes the playoffs

Larry Johnson will be a bust, comparatively speaking

Lovie Smith signs a lucrative contract extension and Chicago start losing again.

Detroit go 8-8

Brandon Marshall will go the Pro Bowl

So will Santana Moss

I've been hearing quite a bit lately that TO won't be on the Cowboys next yr and I just don't get it. Now this isn't based on his performance on the field, (I would say he's been slightly above average) or his constant yapping (it's been getting old for awhile now) but rather the fact that it seems that Jerry Jones seems to be looking at TO with Michael Irvin glasses on. I haven't seen anything negative from Jerry Jones regarding Owens; instead he's pretty much praised or supported TO throughout the reg season (even with the shouting match with the WR coach, Jones said that he would fine the coach, not TO)Peter King said that Parcells' decision to come back in 2k7 will not be influenced by whether Owens comes back or not in 2k7. So can anyone tell me why Jerry Jones would not want Owens back for 2k7?

6. Terrell Owens out of football for a season. The Cowboys will cut him and he'll lay out a year before coming back.
I too think he will get cut, but he's too old to sit out a year. He'll probably get signed by the Raiders. He'll get along with Sapp and Moss just fine.

OK, so let me give this a shot.1. The Raiders will get the first pick in this year's draft, run of out time to pick the first player, and Cleveland then politely snags RB Adrian Peterson from OK.2. Raiders then pick QB Troy Smith (God help his poor soul)3. Titans with all their extra Bling$$$ will spend away during free agency and win the AFC South.4. Favre Retires, but the Packers invest some money and bring in Matt Shaub5. Bill Parcells leaves Dallas, but not TO6. Jason Campbell turns into a Pro-Bowl QB7. LT is on the cover of Madden 08 (Uh oh...)8. Ricky Williams returns to the Phins to give them an awesome 1-2 combination of RW and Ronnie Brown9. Nick Saban goes to Alabama10. Shaun Alexander is not a top ten RB next year.

Favre stays put and starts in 2007.

the team hasn't seen enough from Rodgers to believe that he can be the starter.. they're WAY under the cap.. Favre wants to keep playing (that's the talk about town anyways).. the O-Line kept him clean much of the season.. the defense looks good.

Someone is going to give Asante Samuel way too much money. Tennessee is certainly a possibility.

Indeed, which is fine with me. He'll be asked to cover the other team's #2 WR, which will work out just fine.

All things considered, I'd rather give Nate Clements way too much money. But, frankly, I'd take either one.Another prediction: The Jags QB next year will not be named Leftwich or Garrard.

-- Mora, Coughlin, and Denny Green all get the axe

-- Parcells retires, likely for good

-- Favre returns to GB for another season

-- "Feelers" are put out for Vick, but in the end the asking price is too much, as the Falcons want too much for him, and the cap hit is still too much, so he returns to ATL

-- Millen is FINALLY fired (ok, more of a wish)

-- Detroit burns their top pick on Brady Quinn ( :goodposting: )

-- Oakland unloads Moss, Porter, and a bunch of other underachievers

-- Art Shell goes back into hibernation

-- Dayne is actually given a chance to start in HOU (but they will learn the hard way, as always); however, they will draft another young RB or pick one up via FA as insurance

Why would they have to give up a 1st...I thought it would be a 3rd or so to get Schaub? :goodposting:

A New York flair...

The Giants fire Tom Coughlin.

Bill Parcells leaves the Cowboys.

Parcells then comes back home to Giants Stadium...as coach AND GM

With the Jets almost assured of making the playoffs, they will be picking too late to get Marshawn Lynch.

Mangini and company look at the game films and notice that in the two games that he was the clear cut #1 RB (Jax, Det and Miami) Leon Washington plays superbly and the Jets commit to him as their #1 RB. He goes on and has a top 20 season.

Two, Three...what's the real difference?

A waste of time by the Texans but they are stupid enough too. If they keep Carr for ANOTHER losing season, Brown is possible.

3. Asante Samuel to Tennessee - They need another starting corner in the worst way, and they have money.

4. Jerry Porter to Tampa - Reunited with Gruden. Clown shoes Porter stinks it up in Tampa Bay. No bets taken on his faking an injury in pre-season for the 5th or so straight year. L-O-S-E-R

5. Randy Moss to Atlanta Highly likely for Schaub I HOPE! Moss contunues his sucky play

6. Terrell Owens out of football for a season. The Cowboys will cut him and he'll lay out a year before coming back.

7. David Carr to Oakland - ...and it keeps getting worse for both parties. No WAY!!!!!

Chris Brown to Denver and he shows us why he should be a starter.

Porter to Tampa.

Garcia stays in Philly he realizes he is on good ride and does not mind being a backup.

Favre comes backs to GB and make the playoffs.

Atl. still does not get any WRs that can catch.

Moss stays in Oakland because no one else wants him.

Cowboys make no changes and they end up like they are now.

Shell, Green, and Parcells stay.

Oakland drafts Quinn and realize they should have taken Russell.

Or a dream if you like all the NFL's tools congregated on one team.I bet Atlanta's media pool would quadruple.

:goodposting: Firstly I don't think they're done with Walter yet - and I don't think they should be. I know he's made some bad decisions often times this season, but I have also seen flashes of his abilities. I think it's painfully obvious to the Raiders that they have a real problem on their offensive line, and that they'll need to address that before any QB has a chance of playing well consistently. I don't think Walter has been given a fair shot due to the offensive line, and I also don't think this year's QB draft class or free agent class is enticing enough for the Raiders to give up on him yet.Let's also not forget they've got a decent amount of money tied up in Brooks. I doubt they'd be able to trade him, so to get out from under that would require cutting him, and I'm not sure what the cap implications of his deal are. Unless they can dump him and his contract I think it would be hard for them to tie up more money in yet another QB project while they have extremely pressing needs elsewhere.I think the Raiders trade down for depth and make restocking their offensive line and their receiving corps priority one.

Educated Prediction -

Tony Gonzalez to the Packers - makes a lot of sense as it fill a few needs. The Pack needs somebody who can legitimately take pressure off of Driver. They also lacking older players that Favre can relate to. He doesn't really have much in common with the younger guys and the Packers are the youngest team in the NFL.

With Tony Gonzalez, the Packers are a legit Playoff team.

Garcia stays in Philly he realizes he is on good ride and does not mind being a backup.
Keep in mind, McNabb may not be ready for the start of the season. I would think the Eagles would do everything in their power to keep Garcia, the way he's been playing.

Randy Moss to the Jets.

Terrell Owens in turn to the Raiders.

Byron Leftwich to the Raiders.

If Bledsoe doesn't retire, he is another candidate for the Raiders.

I predicted Matt Schaub would be starting for the Falcons by week 10 this year, so I guess I have to change that to say he will be starting for some NFL team next year.

The Bills and 49ers will make the playoffs.

Teams looking for new head coaches:

Redskins - Gibbs not fired but steps down.

Giants - Coughlin fired.

Cardinals - Green fired.

Dolphins - Saban resigns.
