Critique my resume. (1 Viewer)

Where have you applied?
Have you sent any follow up emails or phone calls?
Which area are you in?
I don't have a list, although maybe I should start keeping a list. A bunch of places though: Sprint, Circle K (Managrment trainee), Motel 6, City of Palm Bay, and like 5/6 administrative - payroll jobs in Melbourne.

I have not sent any follow up e-mails or phone calls.

I am in Palm Bay, Florida.

I personally used Gmail to maintain correspondence.  If you haven't heard anything in 3 business days, I'd suggest you give them a call and ask if they have filled the role and reitirate your interest in the job.  If you do not get anyone by phone, leave a message and / or send an email.

Okay, I will give it another go. It's been a week since I sent out my last batch of applications.

There are a lot of call center positions in Melbourne for Ford. They hire through a company called Percepta. If you can get in, and finish a degree, you can get a sweet position at Ford.

Thanks for the lead, chief. I will definitely be looking into this.

Walgreens, yes.

Fifth Third, no.

Yes, but it's not my preference. I'd rather bus tables or drive uBer than be a server.
If you hustle and have even passable social skills, you can likely make more $$$ serving than most random entry level jobs, even at a crappy chain / family restaraunt type place. Plus, restaraunt industry people are generally great to party with. The hours usually match up really well with class schedules too.

I ended up spending 3 hours on Mondy night putting in a bunch of revised / simplified versions of my resume to a bunch of companies.

Received 5 callbacks. Feel like I'm doing well on these phone interviews, have an interview in person next Friday.

Is this the same feeling you have from the Trump debates, because that could be a bearish signal.

Em, you are trying to complete a college degree?

-Go find a pizza delivery job that will be flexible with your schedule. Soon because you have retail experience they will eventually make you a swing manager at night and you won't be delivering pizzas all the time but working in the store and gaining valuable knowledge so one day you don't actually have to work there anymore.

-You will make better money in tips IMO than any of these other jobs you will apply for.

-Learn how to bar tend, seriously.

Bartender is a bad call if you've seen Em's videos. That's not a job for everyone.
:goodposting:

Plus, the only way someone with zero bartending experience is getting hired is if they are a hot girl. It is a great gig, and it's pretty much how I put myself through college, but it took a year plus of serving at banquets and being super reliable before I started getting bartending shifts. I ending up keeping that gig (upscale banquet / wedding bartender) on Friday and Saturday nights for years even after I graduated and got a real job because the money was so great and it was so much fun.

Yes, I am approximately two years from my Bachelors. Sitting on an Associates in Business Administration right now.

I already did the pizza place thing when I was younger. Wouldn't say I'm in any hurry to go back to that environment.

I have 4 interviews scheduled:

1.) Best Buy - Inventory Specialist

2.) AT&T - Retail Sales Consultant (with commission)

3.) Adecco - Call Center Representative for ****'s Sporting Goods and other retailers.

4.) Harbor Freight - Freight Coordinator

This is the thread that puts into perspective all other threads.  It all makes perfect sense now.  Thank you, Em.

Take education out of objectives, clean up bullets so they are consistent. I don't like grey tones. I prefer reading about experience more in paragraph form with emphasis on accomplishments. For example, for my resume:
Why do you specify that it's a Nevada S-Corp?

Also, it's clear from you mentioning twice about the work you do in Mexico that the firm specializes in Mexico.  I would remove that redundant sentence.
