I know they want a left-handed right fielder with pop and Markakis is about the best (and only) young player that is both left handed and plays right. I feel you about Ibanez but don't be surprised if he's the one they get. I also read that Lou knows him pretty well. Hell, maybe the Cubbies and O's are doing what the Celtics and T-wolves did (colluding to bring a title to a tired franchise). http://www.suntimes.com/sports/baseball/cu...T-cub03.article

Green has no stones. Not getting Hawpe. Griffey's too expensive for the risk.

Maybe Hermida. I'd be interested in seeing what he could do with 80 games at Wrigley. Maybe not so interested in what it'd take to get him.

Teahen probably doesn't quite have the pop the Cubs are looking for but you never know.

Don't want Abreu, Giles or Drew.

Not getting Ethier. Already have (or had; not sure) Floyd.

Travis Buck is an interesting player but again, what would you have to give up for him?

Neither Trot Nixon or Luke Scott do much for me.

Why would the Orioles want to trade MArkakis? That is a terrible rumor. Sometimes I think people make them up. He is one of their only good young players. You try to build with players like MArkakis, not trade them.

I can't imagine the O's trading Markakis. Good young building block type player with years left before free agency. He's got to be as close to untouchable as that team has.

From my keyboard to the Baseball Gods ears, Markakis better not be rumored to go anywhere. He should be the only untouchable Oriole.

I have heard that the Cubs are interested in B Roberts. I would think he is the 2nd most untouchable Oriole and it's been said that Angelos won't sign off on a deal involving Roberts.

Miggy and Bedard should be traded this offseason. Mora might be as well.

I don't mean to be juvenile here, but if the Cubs sign ####udome, how is that not going to be the most often bought/sold jersey/t-shirt in and around Wrigley. I mean, Kosuke ####udome? You can't make this stuff up. I can only hope his number of choice is 69 (sorry I couldn't resist). Now if he can only hit 300 with 20 bombs.

That's a pretty ugly list. I thought the Cubs might make a push for Griffey last year to fill the gap in CF, as everyone but Pinella saw the Soriano experiment there was a disaster in the making. Does Griff still have the legs to play CF everyday? The way the Cubs are built, they won't have the patience to eat a year of learning from Felix Pie. An OF of Soriano, Griffey and the F-U Dome would generate some excitement. Well, not from the Cubs pitchers that would see a full run added onto their ERA's, but everyone else would be excited.Of all the names on that list, the most likely Cub is Trot Nixon. He did something good a long time ago, hasn't done much lately. Can be had relatively cheaply, but you will still have to overpay based on what you expect him to provide. Exactly the type of player the Cubs love to add.

I just can't see giving up too much for a guy with 52 lifetime HRs. Isn't that reaching a bit for a lefty? I wonder if the Roberts move would mean Hendry landed F U...

Supposedly he wants to visit some cities before deciding....sounds like he wants to tour the US for free.
