Culpepper Could Miss Most of 2006 (1 Viewer)

Certainly nothing more than a rumor, but ProFootballTalk is speculating that there are whispers about that Culpepper could miss the entire 2006 season. Not sure how much validity there is to the rumor, but I figured I'd throw it out there for people to debate . . .

So we have the exception that proves the rule that PFT is a pretty accurate resource. :D

On a serious note, I'll accept "increased rumblings" on most rumors. There are rumblings that Coach X is disliked and on his way out? Ok. There are rumblings that Player Y is being shopped? Ok. But it doesn't make a lot of sense to put reliance on "increased rumblings" on the inner workings of a knee, and its ability to rehab ahead of schedule.

(Great post.)

Before putting too much of stock in the "Possibly out for the year" rumblings, I'll wait & see what Dr. Andrews reports later this week.

Do you think the doctor that operated on him will come back with anything but glowing reviews?

This comes as no surprise to me whatsoever.
Agreed.I wouldn't be surprised to see McNair in a Dolphins uniform to play most/all of 2006.

If Culpepper and Williams are out for the Dolphins, they'll be in a world of hurt next year.

Yes I do. You must not be familiar with Dr. James Andrews. He is one of the nations pre-eminent pro athlete knee surgeons and as such, does not give out false reports.

If he says Culpepper's knee rehab is progressing as planned, I believe him.

If he has there is scar tissue build up and he needs to go in and do an arthroscopic clean up, I believe him.

Stay away in '06.

Stay away from all players with torn ACL's for at least 1 full season has passed since the injury.
:goodposting:
Seems like with all of the Carson Palmer love in here, a lot of FBGs are either ignoring or conveniently forgetting about this.
Please let them continue.Signed,

A Culpepper and Palmer owner who needs some optimism.

Good to know, thanks.

When Culpepper was hurt they said it was a 15 month recovery period.

So that sounds about right.

Actually, I could see them making more of a push for Harrington than McNair. But hey, anything is possible...

Saban is furious because Culepper has just driven up the market for another QB. Culpepper has never been accused of being smart.

The gag order will be back on.
