Curbball (1 Viewer)

Has this game all but disappeared? I was talking to my sons about it the other day and they thought I was crazy. I remember constantly playing it as a kid. We had neighborhood tournaments with brackets and bragging rights. Heaven forbid a neighbor drove their car down the street mid-game - this would result in a 10 point attempt by throwing the ball over the car and getting a rebound off the opposite curb! The bigger/taller the vehicle, the more points the attempt was worth.

We tried to play in our neighborhood last night, but all of the curbs are slanted/curved now - instead of the steep drops there were back in the day. You just don't get a good bounce back from these slanted/curved curbs anymore.

Wow - haven't thought of curb ball in years. That and stoop ball were mainstays of my youth.

The good old days when kids went outside and we made our own fun. :shakescane:

Wallball was the structure-based game of choice where I grew up.
Yea we had two versions. Wall ball was tamer where you only had to hit the wall to eliminate a person. Suey is the same but you had to peg the person to get them out.

We played porch ball. Aim was to hit the exact front edge of the steps to create a home run or at least a line drive.

we would play with a golf ball in an alley to sharpen up our reflexes. that #### came back fast.

and at my high school reunion last month, i proudly showed my daughter the wall where we played butts up. she thought i was crazy. 'course you can't play smear the queer anymore either. :oldunsure:
