Curt Schilling with arm trouble? (1 Viewer)

WEEI is reporting that Curt Schilling was sent back to Boston on Tuesday afternoon to be checked out by the medical staff.

A precautionary MRI is likely. Schilling has avoided arm troubles for several years. This probably isn't anything major, but it's smart of the Red Sox to be sure. If Schilling needs to go on the DL, it's likely that Jon Lester will get the chance to replace him in the rotation. The left-hander is worth picking up in any AL-only leagues in which he's available.

If its anything serious, thats a little more pressure on the rest of the staff to maintain the slack. He's not what he was, but he was still a big game pitcher.

Might be just what the Yanks need to pick up a few games over the next month if he goes on the DL.

Obviously it will depend on how long he would be out. The Sox just embarked on a very tough road trip with stops in ATL, SD, and SEA. IMO, 5-5 would be a successful road trip

Things get better after that over the next month or so with series against TEX, TB, TOR, CWS, KC, TB, and BAL with DET and CLE as the only real powerhouses in all of July.

If they go 3-3 against the Tigers and Indians, they may be able to win 2 out of 3 against the other so-so teams and end up 20-11 or 19-12 over that stretch, with or without Schilling.
