Martin attending all team functions means little given his attitude and work ethic. A true professional to say the least. Unfortunately, getting any injury info out of the Jets these days is next to impossible. Sorry for the lack of info, but there's little to be had.
Curtis Martin is just one week away from a possible return to action. The Jets have been tight-lipped about Martin's rehab, but he's working out daily with the team, and says that he's pleased with his recovery. None of the Jets backs have been consistent, and the door is certainly open for Martin to reclaim the starting job. Grab him now, stash him, and keep your fingers crossed for a quick return.
i had no idea cumar was even a possibilty this year...
No new insight - there is simply no info coming out of Hempstead. I'd grab Martin only b/c his upside is significant, but I believe his career is over.
Article the other day in the Star-Ledger I believe indicated that the Jets will let Martin give it a go on the practice field mostly out of courtesy and respect. One last shot before he retires and joins them as a coach. Article said he'd need 2 weeks on the practice field at least to give playing this year any sort of detrmination. Then they have a bye week 9. So you'll either see him out their Week 10 or not at all.
Once they activate him from the PUP on Monday, they have 21 days to place him on the active roster or IR.
