Its not a bad price for a 4K 65" TV. From what I've read, professional reviewers seem to think the curve is just a gimmick, while normal people reviewers seem to love the TV. All agree the picture is great, and I'm not sure I could get a better 65" 4K TV for less anyways.

What's the consensus of all the TV nerds here?

I am not a huge fan of the curved TV. I have heard nothing but great reviews from anyone that owns them. Either way, curved or not, 2,100.00 for a 65 inch 4k display made by Samsung is a good buy.

I'm the same exact way. Sure I have a bunch of smaller TV's but my main tv is a 50" DLP Samsung.

That being said I was thinking of buying the same exact TV from Costco. It got good reviews. I don't know if it's a gimmick or not but it's supposed to be nice.

The upscaling is supposed to be better than it was in the past (in general, not just this one). Supposedly the lessons learned from upscaling to 1080 applied here and its better at it. I wouldn't really know though.

That being said I was thinking of buying the same exact TV from Costco. It got good reviews. I don't know if it's a gimmick or not but it's supposed to be nice.

I've been looking around for a week, but I'm probably going to pick this up today unless something else catches my eye. If I do, I'll let you know how I like it.

I expect to be blown away completely as this is 15 inches bigger and the resolution smokes my 720. The only nagging thought I have is about going from plasma to LCD/LED and the black levels.

I will bet that the black levels won't be nearly as different as you think they will. LCD has made huge strides in that area over the last few years.

I am not a huge fan of the curved TV. I have heard nothing but great reviews from anyone that owns them. Either way, curved or not, 2,100.00 for a 65 inch 4k display made by Samsung is a good buy.

As long as being curved isn't a dealbreaker this is a great deal.

At Costco, all the TVs are displaying the same thing at the same time. So, its probably a 1080 source.

You need to do some reading about the current state of the TV industry before deciding to buy a 4K TV. There is a divide coming soon and no one knows yet who will win. So if you choose to buy 4K you may find yourself with a TV that literally can't play some of the content that will be produced.

I had read this guys review which is why I was skeptical. But as originally noted, at $2179 for a 65 inch 4K Samsung is pretty darn good. The non curved version of that TV currently costs more.

I've got a ~$300 projector showing a 150" HD picture on the basement wall and the whole family loves it. No, it's not the picture I'm seeing on these curved tvs but my gut tells me you can put that tv right next to your one that shows 3D. If you're the type who argues about how black is black, then you wouldn't like my setup but I love the huge size w good hd quality. In the spring and summer, we'll move it on out to the driveway again for the neighborhood movies at 200"+.

It's definitely not ready yet but in 5 years I expect us all to be buying them.

OLED is one of those good deals with major drawbacks. Just beware of what you're buying. Nice picture, but NEVER leave it on the same image. Pause your DVR then turn off the TV.
