Cutler against Miami Def (1 Viewer)

Cutler looked surprisingly agile avoiding the rush last week and the week before. And he's only thrown more than 1 pick twice this year. I don't think Miami D is a bad play, but I wouldn't expect gaudy numbers.
Why was it surprising? He has always been athletic enough to run if the protection breaks down and he has been known to be very good on roll outs, even going back to the Denver games. Just because people form biased opinions without looking at facts does not make it a fact. Tools like Mark Schelereth (who hates Cutler because he decided the Broncos are a garbage run organization and wanted out) just spewing nonsense because they have a forum to speak on the topic, but that does not make it fact. Cutler has had 9 ints in 8 games....that is really not so bad, especially given the Bears do not have any WR that can outmuscle any DB and that they are all learning a new offense, which is known to be a difficult offense.
It was surprising that he was avoiding the rush. The facts seem to show he has not been very good at that this season.

Cutler just got sacked while I was typing this.
:P 1 sack in the last 2 games, but do not let facts get in the way of your hatred and ignorance! And that included the mighty Jared Allen.
Try 3 sacks in the last 2 games, but don't let the ACTUAL facts get in the way of your homer talk.BTW...the last 2 games were against teams near the bottom of the league in sacking the QB...might want to check out how Miami does in that.Oh, and Allen has been far from mighty this year.

The Bears are perhaps the worst 6-3 team in the league. 5 of their wins have come against the cowboys, bills, lions, panthers, and vikings, with a whopping 9 wins combined. The bears D will be effective early, but if Cutler can't keep them off the field, I expect the fins to eventually turn the tables in the running game. I think Cutler's good for 2 TOs en route to a dolphins win.
The Bears 3 losses have come from the Giants(6-3 and in first place), Seattle(5-4 and in first place), Washington(4-5). Two of the losses by 3 points each...in the first games of Cutler back from his concussion which made the first loss happen. They can only play who is on the schedule....but they didn't lose to chumps.
So they lost to one good team, one terrible team thats lucky to play in the worst division in football, and the Redskins. They have beaten one team with a winning record...yes, they can only play the games on their schedule...but his point is in evaluating how strong of a 6-3 team they really are.

There's going to be a lot of crow to eat after tonight's game. It would be harder to get some people to admit Cutler isn't a bad QB than it would be to convert a muslim extremist to christianity.

I'm well aware of his side. Just stating that everyone will find out more about the Bears(good or bad) from the second half of the season when they play more formidable opponents(Phins, Pats, Jets, GB).

I don't think he is a bad QB.I think he takes too many chances in the redzone for sure.

And Eagles right? And I agree...will find out more about them and GB in this 2nd half.

As a Cutler owner I know to NEVER play him at night!

Not sure why but he just can't perform past 8:00.

I think his brain switches into party mode after that time.

Cutler to Olsen, "Dammit Greg, just catch the ball so we can get to the bar already!"

Soooooooo... how did Miami's defense work out for everyone? Pretty much exactly like I said?
Several sacks...an int, forced s fumble too...bit unlucky they didn't recover it.Not great...but they did their part for much of the night.

Can't blame him myself...he's banging Kristin Cavalleri [sp]. It'd be party mode for me too.

yea cutler went 275-2-1 just like you said, solid callI'll give you credit for your predictions on thigpen and miami D tho
Yes, I was off on Cutler's offensive stats. I thought there would be more offense in general tonight. With the Bears up and the D playing lights out, it was a lot of runs and short routes.I did expect Miami to get 1-2 more sacks, and had Cutler thrown enough to get near 275, they probably would have had them.

I mean, Ronnie and Ricky only had 3 carries each! Thigpen had 6 himself.. to go along with 29 pass attempts and 6 times he dropped back and was sacked.. The Dolphins OC didn't do what I thought he would.

150 or so yards and an INT and a FUM is good? Ummm.. Ok.Guess we just set standards differently.

This thread was started to push the notion that the Dolphins D was going to feast on Cutler. That D put up 6 points in my league. That's right at their season average.

It felt like the Bears started running clock as soon as that 3rd FG was on the board.Horrible output for MIA last night (not all entirely their fault... bud real bad none-the-less).Nice drop by Hester too on that long TD pass... but in his defense, he is a punt returner by trade.

What fumble? I don't see a fumble in his stat line.I think you're just upset that Forte is better than Felix.

No fumble lost...but he fumbled on the first sack by Wake. They got a bit lucky that the Miami defender going for the ball booted it back towards where there were Bear players. But he did fumble...just didn't lose it.

Well, then that doesn't count.. there was no turnover. I know you were just clarifying what he said, so that wasn't directed at you, I'm just saying.

You should try watching games. :lmao: FTR - Felix is a far better RB than Forte even dreams of being, and that's after one of Forte's best games of the season.

P.S. Love that you think a fumble isn't a fumble because it's not lost. That's really funny.
