The dilemma. . . .you drafted these players. . . .they have underperformed all season. . . .but you have hope that they may one day return (this season) to help your team to the championship. . . . .problem is, they only seem to be getting worse. You don't want to drop them because by name alone they are better than many of the other players on other teams in your league. . .and you don’t want them to have YOUR players because you are afraid that they will help them. . .even FBG still has them rated as players to keep. . . .but I think we are all wrong.

SO who are these players?

Naturally I think I have a few on my team, but I figured I might bring it up. Let's work out who should we hold for several more weeks vs. who should we drop so that they may infect another team with their loser skills.

Here are my additions, please add some of your own.

Santana Moss - The speedster, the #1 on his team, the one who will help bring Campbell up to a starting FF QB, the one who benched himself 2 weeks ago and then brought us to our knees with an 8 yard performance just last week. In fact, Moss has been more than 2X by Antwaan Randle El. . . .Yup, this is the guy that has yet to catch a TD, and has hit to break even 90 yards. Don’t worry though. . . .2 weeks ago he dropped 6 passes and then fumbled an end around. . .that was good for negative in my league. VOTE : DROP, someone needs to pat this guy on the back and give him a hug. Seems to me there are some confidence issues here. Too bad for Moss and his owners that this is the NFL, not Glamour Magazine.

Javon Walker - UGH. . . .here's a tough one. Javon came out strong Both of his first 2 games were for over 100 yards, and while they were with out TDs, it was still looking like you made some headway in your draft. . .BUT WAIT, week 3 a new WR started showing up, and after that 3rd week Javons knee felt funny. But dont worry, he was still playing in week 4. . . .well, that was until week 4. Then it was a couple weeks out and I will be back after the bye. What’s that? Javon shops at the JERK STORE? Thanks! After nearly 4 weeks of waiting, you decide to go under the knife and will be back in 6 more. VOTE : DROP, missing 10 weeks of the season doesn’t help build a friendship between you and your QB. To make matters worse, theres a new whore in town that is stealing the looks you used to get. The best Walker will be on that team when he gets back is #2

Marq Colston - 8 Catches for 100 yards is his best day so far this year. I might be stretching it, but I think he had games last year that out performed this entire season this year. He does have 2 TD's to date, he has been playing through an injury, he has only seen 1 game with under 7 passes come his way, and he does have a QB that is starting to pull it together a little. And looking at the schedule, it doesn’t look too nasty. Who knows, maybe his back will loosen up a little, maybe the saints win a few and get some happy love joy back in the team? VOTE : KEEP, not as a #1 or #2, but for a #3 you could do worse, and there is still upside.

Benson has been surprisingly consistant. . . .not great, or anything worth getting excited about, but his schedule seems pretty good from here till week 14 (skins, Vikes, Pack). I would keep, and then if his value goes up, try and get rid of him just before your trade deadline.

Vernon Davis - Invisible since day one. The only reason people hung on to him is that he got injured so there was a built in excuse. Comes back after the bye, and he's still missing along with the 49ers offense.

Denver Running Game - They keep starting Henry (who never scored TD's this year anyway) and now he doesn't gain any yards either. Young only gets two touches a game. Hall waits in the wings. And Bell and Sapp are just sitting there chomping at the bit waiting for the vulture call.

Jon Kitna - You need consistent play at the QB position. You need a TD pass every week if possible. This guy was supposed to be the "gem" late QB draft pick and he's been MIA too much already. If you can trade him great. Hopefully you didn't trade Big Ben away like I did, instead of keeping Ben and letting this guy go.

Make that week 13. . .GiantsSo yea, minus the bye, he has good weeks for a few to come, then then a deathly playoff run.

This fits for Vernon. . . .that guy should get canned and be a cancer for someone elses team. But Henry? Kitna? Niether have been great recently, but they would help many teams out there. Really no questions there.

My league has tight roster limits so I'm dropping Walker. I can't afford to wait six weeks with the hope that maybe he returns to full health and contributes. If nobody picks him up I'll keep a close eye on the situation and try to pounce and get him back if the news is positive about his return.

I'm starting to wonder how much longer I can afford to hold Rudi Johnson. I'd add his name to the list of players who may start being dropped in a lot of leagues if he misses another game this week.

who I cut bait on already this season:

McNabb

Bulger

Who I would love to cut bait with but really cant due to lack of options/trading:

Travis Henry

Shaun Alexander

Flat out Benched:

Colston

Walker is the one I not sure about. He reminds of D. Jackson when he was hurt, I waited for him to come back, and once he did his numbers were not great. If I see positive news this week, maybe I keep Walker, but leaning towards letting him go, for pickup like C.Henry cinn, or Hacket Sea.

Im going to have to this week to cover Stover's bye.I can't drop Watson right now with Rudi still hurting...picked K. Keith back up and now cannot drop him.Walker is the odd man out.

Yup.Dropping him for a kicker replacement this week.Hoping Henry is still around after the games this week.

I've always liked monkeys, but StuntMonkee is my new favourite one. :lmao:
he he. . .thanksOn to some running backs.

At the top of the list!

Any Packers RB. - SOS is the biggest tease here. Looking down the stretch, if the pack would have been able to pick up a RB like Turner, or LJ, you would had something to riding to the house. . .instead we have been given 4 rb's that have hinted to be "the man" for the entire season (except for sundays and some saturdays. . . .and a monday). VOTE - DROP, these guys are going to bounce around all season long. . .the best you can hope for here is that someone else is desperate enough for a RB, and will pick one up and then miss the playoffs because of it.

Jamal Lewis - HA, so you come out of the gates with a measly 40 yards, and then you make it up to me with 215 yards and a touch. Sweet nectar of the mid rounds. Followed by some pedestrian sub 100 games, but I still 215 yards! Then you get dent in week 5 :( Then miss a week followed with a bye. So out of my first 7 weeks, you have given me 1 stella performance, 1 other thats worth keeping, and then a bunch of duds. VOTE - you have to keep this guy. bottom line is that his value sucks, but Jason Write didnt do much, and gets some decent matchups from here on out. A few tough one, but if you look at the end of the season, he closes on the same team that he posted the 200+ yards on early in the season. If this guy is your #2, then you really cant go wrong.

Honorable mentions

Lendale White

Foster (this one is your own fault, you drafted him last year too didnt you?)

Winner

S. Alexander - This may be the toughest call. He came out and posted 3 decent games, and then went Rip van Winkle on us and has yet to wake up. . . .instead looks like his coma is getting worse. Looking forward it appears to be a softer schedule except for the winner weeks, but if its anything like the last few weeks, you wont have to worry about him playing for your team in week 15 or 16 anyway. VOTE - as had as it may be, and if you can't trade him for SOMETHING, this might be the toughest drop of them all, but I think he becomes the bigest bust of the year that played the whole season.

FWIW, Walker was on local radio out here in Colorado this a.m., and said he hoped to be back "late November or early December", and that he wants to make sure his knee's right before he comes back.Had to cut him. That's another six weeks, and I couldn't keep a roster slot open for him that long what with bye weeks and other injured guys. I'm just hoping the Broncos can hang on and stay in contention in the AFC, so that Walker comes back late in the year and that me and everyone else that had to drop him can try and get him back.

This matches up with the six-week timetable we've gotten so far. And the last part to me is the key - just because Walker is scheduled to come back doesn't automatically mean he'll be ready for Week 13. Good info here. Thanks.
