MLB Dan Morgan came in wearing a cast on his right foot, saying he had a partially torn Achilles tendon. The cast comes off later this week and he's hopeful of playing again soon.

Will be very interesting to see how the Panthers handle this. James Anderson started in the middle yesterday and played respectably although he didn't fill up the stat sheet despite 42 rush attempts. It's also not clear who was playing in the nickel packages.

I'd recommend rostering Anderson immediately and seeing what happens. He'll have some value either way.

I wonder if they knew this prior to yesterdays games. Agreed that it should be interesting to see what they do with his spot. If he is only slated to miss a few (3 or perhaps 4) weeks then I could see them keeping Anderson in there and not putting undo pressure on Beason since he missed so much camp. That might be the case even if Morgan missed the entire year though. This weekend should help clear some things also.

I was just editing my comments...last I heard Morgan was not playing...then I went to double check and don't see him on the injury report, so I'm not sure what his status is. As for his long term outlook, I don't think he has any value. Beason seems entrenched in the middle long term.
