A good point was made on the Roundtable podcast. He is a good play against teams that air it out on offense because he plays in the nickel package. Week 3 against the Pats is a perfect example and one in which he played 81% of snaps.

Obviously teammates pump up their players but Ladarius Webb is pimping Ellerbe a lot right now. Calling him the next Ravens star LB.

And this was from Mike Preston in the Sun:

"Also, fourth-year inside linebacker Dannell Ellerbe might be the best linebacker on the team right now. He provides good coverage in passing situations and has gotten pressure when blitzing.

In the future, it wouldn't be surprising to see Ellerbe in on more first-down plays."

This is news to me. 15/19, 173 yards, 116 YAC, 1 TD, 0 INT, 122.1 QB Rating against him. Preston is usually an idiot with his analysis.

Where Ellerbe has his value is the fact that he seems to play the run better than McClain and is averaging 10.5 pass rush attempts the last 2 games. He has nice potential for a sack when he does play.

The last 2 weeks he has played 101 snaps and rushed on 21 of them. That is a high percentage.

Is he a good play against kc? I know kc is a great lb matchup but do you think he'll be on the field enough since he's only in on nickel and dime?
