Danny-Boy Amendola (1 Viewer)

OK lets face it. There is no way SJax plays this week. He has not practiced all week and is dreaded GTD, even if he plays I just can't see him being effective or lasting for that matter. I say the Rams play it safe and sit him. So Bradford is going to have to find a new dump off receiver...enter Danny Amendola. He has had six receptions 2 of the first 3 weeks and a TON of targets. Teams are going to have to start respecting Clayton down field. I see a ton of short passes going to Danny Boy this week against of of the leagues worst pass D's

On conservative side

8 receptions/ 100 yards

Upside of double digit receptions and a buck twenty.

Take it to the bank!!!

Sounds good. Starting him over Kevin Walter since he will most likely draw Asomougha coverage if AJ is out.

a) never count SJ out, but yes, there is a good chance he sits.... but this is a monster game for the Rams, they have a good change of winning their next few games. Sjax will do anything he can to be out there. I half wish he sits (as an owner) so he doesnt really hurt himself, but half hope he plays. either way, may he pleeeeeeease stay safe

b) amendola is the sleeper of the week.

:lmao:

Right there with the OP

I picked him up this week because of the matchup and how much he has been targeted this season. Clayton is starting to get more attention drawn his way, add to SJax being out and I could see him for a nice day.

Assume you have short rosters 14=16 spots and it's a bye week now...as a WR3 in PPR what's the downside here? 5-50??? I'll take the 10 points, and that would likely be the floor here, possibility of maybe 15-20 if things go right and you gotta believe that Clayton is drawing the double team. Laurent Robinson still out/doubtful this week?

Good thread topic.

prediction as my sleeper of the week: 83yds, 1 TD

nothing insane, but a solid week, w/ solid #'s.

I'm debating whether to pick him now before he has a huge weekend. He could be a good bye week fill-in later in the year. Do you guys think he can put up 5/60 consistently? He doesn't have the upside of some of my bench WR's right now, but they also have a habit of sometimes putting up 0's...

Amendola seems like he will be the consistent guy. He's not going to put up #1 numbers but he might get you something like Donald Driver numbers. Consistent catches for decent yards and an occasional TD. Should be good for some points every week.

Still the play if Sjax if active?
Yea...the Rams will have a tough time running on Seattle in general.I'm trying to decide between Jacoby Jones and Amendola.Amendola: I like his matchup better, and his probably guaranteed to get 6-10 targets, converting at least 5-7 of them. The downside is the yardage isn't really there usually, averaging approx. 10 ypc. And he's pretty muc ha non-factor in the redzone.Jones: Negatives...Oakland's pass D. But seeing as how Namdi (sp?) usually stays on a certain side of the field, I think Jones will still get between 6-10 targets (depending on AJs status). He will convert about the same as Amendola. But he's got a greater chance of taking one to the house or catching a long bomb! He's also a more involved in the redzone. I also trust Schaub more than Bradford. Sure Bradford is looking good, but he's still aa rookie and that can be unreliable. The other ngeative I see is that I anticipate Houston running more and doing so successfully.ehh....I'll pick the wrong one probably.

Danny Amendola: Danny Amendola in New England?

Danny Amendola - WR - STL - Mar. 15 - 10:51 am et

CBS Boston's Scott Zolak reports restricted free agent Danny Amendola was spotted in Boston Wednesday.

Whether or not he was visiting the Patriots hasn't been confirmed, but the Boston media has been mentioning Amendola as a possible Pats' target for days. Amendola was limited to just one game by a triceps injury in 2011, but hauled in 85 catches for 689 yards in 2010. Although Amendola is far more limited after the catch, his game strongly resembles Wes Welker's. However, he was tendered at the second-round level by the Rams, which would be a steep price for the Pats to surrender for a player with a career 4.4 YAC. Mar. 15 - 10:51 am et

per Karen Guregian Pats beat writer:

WR Danny Amendola, who was spotted in Boston last night, is attending a funeral in Maine. According to a source, there are no plans to meet with Pats.

Amendola going to the Pats (and giving up a 2nd round pick) didn't make a whole lotta sense. And who can recognize him on sight in the first place?

I can make a case for Amendola to New England.Wes is getting older and a one year tag, Danny Amendola is the prototypical WW clone, and younger.I cannot, however make a case for New England parting with a 2nd for him.Just not their style. After roster cutdown is usually the time when New England gets busy.

I think Amendola is an interesting guy to buy cheap on in PPR leagues. If he ends up in St. Louis again, you have to think that he will at least get an opportunity to go back to his 2010 form. I could definitely see him going to New England after his contract is over next year, as well. He seems like their kind of guy.

I thought I remember a team and it may have been New England doing a tactic like this several years back. Heck, it may have been with Welker. I thought they brought in a RFA they would have had to give up a pretty high pick for only to then wait and sign him when he was unrestricted a year later. I may not have all these facts straight but that sort of move makes a lot of sense if a team likes a guy but not enough to lose the pick. Give them your sales pitch and say let's talk next year.

Pats traded a second for Welker.

Do you put the current Amendola in the same class as the Pre-New England Welker ?
