The 5'9 is real generous... I think he even said so himself that he is closer to 5'7.I think it's funny that some people dismiss him because of his size. He's 5'9" and 200lbs. Ahmad Bradshaw is listed at 5'9" and 198lbs.
He's around 5'7 from everything I've heard. That said, how tall is Ray Rice? 5'8?I think it's funny that some people dismiss him because of his size. He's 5'9" and 200lbs. Ahmad Bradshaw is listed at 5'9" and 198lbs.
5'7" @ 200lbs is better in my mind than 5'9 200lbs. A bit more thickly built. But yeah, Ray Rice can't be much taller. Or MJD for that matter. He's around 5'7 from everything I've heard. Does he look like Mike Alstott?Lets acknowledge the elephant in the room. He's white. I honestly think going forward we are going to see a lot of D-WoodI'd say 15 touches against Baltimore is a good indicator.
Maybe that's why no one likes to talk about him... their fallback comparison doesn't fit at all.Does he look like Mike Alstott?Lets acknowledge the elephant in the room. He's white. I wouldn't worry about Taylor. Think in terms of Faulk did in that offense, and you have what Woodhead will do.I picked him up on waivers in a ppr league this week. My RBs are awfull and my only stud Foster is on a bye this week. I'm planning on starting over C Williams this week. I am concerned about the 3 headed RBBC on a team that doesn't look to run that much though. When is Taylor expected to return?
He'sI'll tell you this, in a league that awards points for carries and receptions a player like Danny Woodhead, who is listed as a WR/RB is a very solid option at WR.
in my PPPP (point per potential participation) where we get 1 pt for being the fake ballhandler in play action, and another point if he is passed on in a progression checkdown, and if thrown too. That's a Hawk only league if I've ever seen it.He'sI'll tell you this, in a league that awards points for carries and receptions a player like Danny Woodhead, who is listed as a WR/RB is a very solid option at WR.in my PPPP (point per potential participation) where we get 1 pt for being the fake ballhandler in play action, and another point if he is passed on in a progression checkdown, and if thrown too.
I'm still chuckling over this one. I think most of my players would be gold in a PPPP league. He'sI'll tell you this, in a league that awards points for carries and receptions a player like Danny Woodhead, who is listed as a WR/RB is a very solid option at WR.in my PPPP (point per potential participation) where we get 1 pt for being the fake ballhandler in play action, and another point if he is passed on in a progression checkdown, and if thrown too.
Jerome Harrison is rb3. Are there leagues that award points for carries?I'll tell you this, in a league that awards points for carries and receptions a player like Danny Woodhead, who is listed as a WR/RB is a very solid option at WR.

Yes. I'm in two leagues that award 0.1 pts/carry. Not a big deal, but helps with guys who get a lot of action and fail to score TD's.Are there leagues that award points for carries?I'll tell you this, in a league that awards points for carries and receptions a player like Danny Woodhead, who is listed as a WR/RB is a very solid option at WR.![]()
Both my money leagues do, 0.1 per attempt in our 0.5 PPR league, and 0.2 per attempt in out 1PPR league. Are there leagues that award points for carries?I'll tell you this, in a league that awards points for carries and receptions a player like Danny Woodhead, who is listed as a WR/RB is a very solid option at WR.![]()
This is a pretty good, original thread on Woodhead. I just say that because it has some more info on Woodhead in it.The Pats just played one of the toughest run defenses in the league and Woodhead still had 63 yds rushing and broke tackles doing it.
He has been getting a steady 10 ff points a game as a WR, He hasnt exploded yet but that is steady production week to week at the tricky WR position.I'll tell you this, in a league that awards points for carries and receptions a player like Danny Woodhead, who is listed as a WR/RB is a very solid option at WR.
I don't care what the media guide lists him at, he ain't 5'-9" 200lbs.I think it's funny that some people dismiss him because of his size. He's 5'9" and 200lbs. Ahmad Bradshaw is listed at 5'9" and 198lbs.
Yes. My main league is points per carry and ppr. I'm really excited about this kid. He got me 27 on my bench last week. Are there leagues that award points for carries?I'll tell you this, in a league that awards points for carries and receptions a player like Danny Woodhead, who is listed as a WR/RB is a very solid option at WR.![]()
No, he's not.Dude is tiny.Watching him on the Jets I always thought of him as a poor man's Sproles.I don't care what the media guide lists him at, he ain't 5'-9" 200lbs.I think it's funny that some people dismiss him because of his size. Can we expect close to 100 total yards from Woody this week? He's around 5'7 from everything I've heard. That said, how tall is Ray Rice? 5'8?I think it's funny that some people dismiss him because of his size. He's 5'9" and 200lbs. Ahmad Bradshaw is listed at 5'9" and 198lbs.
I think the numbers from the NFL Combine are usually reliable as they strip down the dudes and check everything. Actually I'd rather have him shorter (5'7" vs 5' 9") than have him lighter (<200lbs). And I agree. I think he takes over the Kevin Faulk role and he'll probably be quicker and more explosive than Faulk has been over the last 2 years. Which translates to me as a decent spot-starter/RB#3.I think the numbers from the NFL Combine are usually reliable as they strip down the dudes and check everything. Woodhead is 5-7½, 200-pound,
He also ran the 40 in 4.33 and 4.38 and lifted 225 pounds 20 times.
I picked him up yesterday and starting him ahead of DWill (and my other scraps). In the Patriots offense, I think he could be used like Reggie Bush and Kevin Faulk. He's pretty fast, a small target and probably as hungry as they come.
This thread, No. 32. But that was a while ago.Does Yudkin have any insight on Woodhead's value?I know generally he's down on all Pats RB, because of the committee approach and the inconsistency from week to week.Is Woodhead any different?
Thanks! Wow...he felt strongly then. This thread, No. 32. But that was a while ago.Does Yudkin have any insight on Woodhead's value?I know generally he's down on all Pats RB, because of the committee approach and the inconsistency from week to week.Is Woodhead any different?
Always appreciate your take David, but since writing this Woodhead went from 9 touches against Miami to 16 touches against Baltimore. I realize that extrapolating off 2 data points is a foolish exercise, but does this in any way change your thinking on Woodhead?I am nowhere near as high on Woodhead as some folks are in here. I see him as getting a handful of carries and a maybe a couple of targets a game out of the backfield. I doubt he will see 8 carries a game, so the MIA game was the anomaly, not the norm. The fact that he's scored a couple of TDs is clouding people's judgment in terms of how much fantasy value he has. It would not surprise me at all if he doesn't score again the rest of the season. He's not going to continue to score 1 out of 6 touches. Without his TD scores this year, we wouldn't even be talking about him getting just 3 or 4 fantasy ppg. He might be worth a flyer in deepp, depp leagues, but in terms of regular sized leagues I just don't see how he's startable unless your team is in real dire straits.
he reminds me of a small Mike Alstott.Does he look like Mike Alstott?Lets acknowledge the elephant in the room. He's white. I honestly think going forward we are going to see a lot of D-WoodI'd say 15 touches against Baltimore is a good indicator.
That all adds up to a compact runner with some speed. If the scouting report is true, that he has some moves, he could indeed have some value. He seems more versatile than BGE and seems to get a lot out of his touches. I think BB is smart enough to find ways to put him in a position to make plays kinda like he's done with Hernandez. For a mid-season waiver wire pick-up, I think it's worth a shot.I think the numbers from the NFL Combine are usually reliable as they strip down the dudes and check everything. As long as Taylor is out and Woodhead keeps getting the ball, he's worth a fantasy flex at a minimum. I am curious where Sammy Morris has gone in all of this, as he looked good in the preseason and training camp and now seems to have gone to being a blocking back and very little else.If it stays BJGE and Woodhead and no one else, both deserve fantasy consideration . . .Alex P Keaton said:Always appreciate your take David, but since writing this Woodhead went from 9 touches against Miami to 16 touches against Baltimore. What matters here is the fact that Woodhead has WR eligibility, if he can consistently put up around 100 total yards and the occasional score he will be an excellent WR3. I almost feel dirty starting him as my WR3.This is similar to the Colston WR/TE and Spencer Havner LB/TE cases of the past.

You honestly think Taylor would impact Woodheads role at this point? Taylor is washed up. But even if he does return he is more likely to eat into Green Ellis's role than Woodheads. As long as Taylor is out and Woodhead keeps getting the ball, he's worth a fantasy flex at a minimum.
