Last 2 years, on a ppg basis, he made a good-great WR1

He's been a solid WR2 for a few years before that.

People expected a drop off in his production when he switched teams, and now that they appear to be correct, his value should be at it's all time lowest, but he's got Pitt this coming week, could drop lower.

The talent hasn't disappeared, the offense may not be as good, the quarterback isn't as good at getting it to him, but it could/should improve as the season goes along, and in the final 4 weeks of the season, he faces

Minnesota (25th in passing yards allowed)

Cinci (27th)

Tampa (20th)

Cleveland(30th)

Anyone buying low? and what are you offering?

starting to have a bad feeling abotu DJAX ..

also kinda worries me that SEATLE would deal him to a division rival for so little .. if they didnt think something was going to happen with him physically ...

He tweaked his back last week and sat out of practice today *per the FLM site*, expected to practice tomorrow.

He's my WR3/4 (now WR2/3 w/ AJ out  ) and he has been decent in a PPR. Not what I want (yet) from a WR3, but if he can avg 4 - 6 catches a game for 60+ yds he's a decent option with upside for more when the SF pass game comes around. Gore playing well will help the cause, and Battle playing well enough to take some attention away. V. Davis should also improve and help the cause. He's going to need to find the endzone every other week somehow to be a solid option.

I'm just not sure about A Smith's ability to provide a dependable passing offense.

Here's some perspective from a niners fan who just traded for Davis in the hope that the offense won't be putting up stinkers every week...

Jackson obviously has issues with hanging on to the football, both weeks he's dropped long passes that should have been grabs. The problem though is that while in SEA he could make up for these drops because they threw the ball ALOT. Smith had only 17 attempts in week 2 due to a combo of conservative playcalling and an inability to sustain drives.

IMO it really depends on how well the niners defense continues to play. Even if the offense begins clicking I don't see Nolan airing it out when his team is ahead to put a team away. You could certainly make a play for Jackson because I believe the 49er offense has nowhere to go but up from here, but I think there are better buy low candidates out there like Lee Evans.

I'm currently trying to move him for a mid-range running back. He's clearly not going to produce like he has in the past.

I think it's way too early to be make that statement. I think they have enough talent to be a better offense. I believe they can get better. One of the things that need to happed in order for that to come to fruition is to get Davis involved in the passing game to open things up a bit. As long as the running game is successful there is always oppertunities for a few play action passes in the game which I see going the majority of them going to WR1 which is D-Jax for know. My .02

I think SF is not good for any offensive player other than RB1 while Nolan is there, from what I've seen of them at this point. I'm convinced Alex Smith is not the answer at QB, and that affects the whole passing game. I have DJax as a #1 in a dynasty league, and I am holding, but I think he won't get back to being a #1 PPG - adequate #2 is the high end.

Was it his previous 23 starts, or something you gleaned from his 48 passing attempt this season?I'm by no means an Alex Smith fan, but I think you are a bit premature in writing him off.

As for DJax, I think his ceiling is still 800yds. Might be a nice buy low right now if you can afford to sit him for a few more weeks. I think (hopefully) Nolan allows Hostler to open it up after PIT trounces them this weekend.

This thread is lacking an "I told you so" element from the Seattle homers.

Personally, I don't think Jackson is a premiere talent. Not even close. He was a product of the system in Seattle in my opinion.

Ick. You couldn't give Jackson to me. I'd rather take my chances on Battle.

Is there really a buy low on Jackson? The owner probably expects Seattle #'s (which he isn't getting) and there are many 800/5 receivers out there that will come cheaper than a buy low Jackson.

I've yet to meet one person that expects or expected Seattle numbers from him.In keepers/Dynasties I had him in, I couldn't give him away.I've seen low expectations for him everywehere, and now that he's confirmed that...value can't get any lower

He was taken in Round 5 and Round 6 in my dynasty/keeper leagues this year.....so they're expecting something. You don't spend a pick in those rounds for a 800 yard WR.Had him in? Keeper/Dynasty leagues? Did you quit or something? (seeing as you said you couldn't give him away)? Or just waive him? (Not that I'd blame you if you did, but he's > a WW WR)

I more or less GAVE him away. I gave DJax/Housh for 1.04, which I already had 1.04 lined up for Andre Johnson.Later, I traded Michael Bush and 2 1sts for Housh.Overall it looks like DJax/Bush/1/1 for Johnson, but DJAX/Housh for 1.04 was a give away.In the 2 Keeper leagues I had him in...I still have him.
