Daryl Washington (1 Viewer)

2 quiet weeks in a row after that monster 1st game back. Cant cut bait yet, but if he puts up some total stinkers again the next couple weeks, adios Daryl.
Credit Wilson for getting rid of the ball just before his knee touched the ground. That should have been a sack by Washington and we would have have forgiven DW for just one bad game the week before.

The concern I have is how often Dansby and Abraham are used to rush the passer, too.

DWash is still getting back up to speed. No need to panic - sacks aren't predictive (much like TDs for WRs), and frankly he has been out awhile. He will be fine.

It seems to me that Washington isn't rushing the passer as much as he used to because they use Dansby up the middle and John Abraham off the edge. Washington appears to be deeper in coverage. That's only what I have observed this year in limited viewings.

The thing I notice more than anything is that while they still blitz in the A gap as they did last year, and that generated a lot of Washington's opportunities, they do it more with Dansby now and Washington tends to be more in the intermediate range in coverage.

The same situation seems to be occurring in Carolina also and Thomas Davis is the benefactor and Kuechly is taking a hit in the stats.

It makes a lot of sense for real life but has taken the edge off the fantasy value.

Pound for pound, I think the best IDP LB going forward is NNavarro Bowman. THere are some who have performed better on the points and such but Bowman has pretty much been matchup-proof, regardless of whether he is playing with other big name players or playing without them when they are injured or playing in coverage or up close to the line. He seems to excel in any role.§

People with high priced lawyers don't usually plead guilty to stuff like this unless they have a behind-closed-doors deal with the prosecution and the judge. Unlikely that he serves meaningful time.
Jailtime and NFL suspension are two different things. Is this considered another "infraction" so any suspension would be more than the 4 game he already got?

Thought I read on one of the Cards' beat writers twitter feed that it is treated differently... This would fall under personal conduct policy and the other infraction was substance abuse.

So the NFL gives you chances for each different type of infraction? "Hey, don't suspend me for hitting my wife/girlfriend - the last time I got in trouble it was for something else." He's on my IDP roster, and aside from this deal lots of things are looking good for his 2014 season. I'm hoping for no suspension, but I just don't see that being the case.

Treating it differently means Goodell isn't limited to the same progression as substance abuse. He could easily be hit with another 4 game suspension, or two or eight, for 'conduct detrimental to the league'

@Cardschatter: NFL judgment next MT @courtpio: Per plea, Judge M. Scott McCoy sentenced Daryl Washington to1 yr supervised probation on aggravated assault

Does anyone have a read on Zona LB outside of Washington and Minter? It seems to be wide open for someone to break out there.
