Data/Coax/Telephone Wall Plate? (1 Viewer)

I'm trying to find a 3 input wall plate to accommodate data(cat5), telephone, & coax. I'm having a surprisingly difficult time finding one, which is making me wonder if this is a bad practice for some reason? I was able to find this one, but I only need 1 of each. Then there's this one, but it doesn't have the phone jack. I figured this was something I could just run to Home Depot and grab, but apparently this is a rare item?

I think you need to look for a generic plate that would allow you to install your cat5, coax, and telepone jacks individually.
Great minds! :hifive:
Thanks guys, looks like a simple solution.
This is probably the solution unless you want to go with a custom plate, just know though that keystone inserts kind of stink if you are going to be doing a lot of pluggin/unplugging. If you push in too hard or if the plate gets bumped with the cables in it, the keystone inserts can get pushed in. Only a plastic tab holds the inserts in place. You can simply replace the inserts if this happens, but it is just a pain. If if is out of the way and you are never going to touch it, you should have no issues. Good luck.

Was just thinking about covering up the phone jack in our kitchen wall permanently.
Why not just cut the cord and bury it in the wall? I don't think land lines are going to be making a comeback.
yes, that is the point. The need for wired/voice data setup in the house is getting less and less.
Gotcha. I read your post as if you were going to install a flat plate junction box cover.

Stupid, I need POTS for my alarm system. I think I can do a VOIP digital, but it has to come from the phone/cable company, not something like vonage.

The problem I have with the modular plugs is you

And with 3 blanks in one plate you have to cut a hole out of the drywall that's almost as big as the plate itself. The blanks take up a lot of room, there should be a better plate developed for situations like this. I always have multiple CAT connections I want to make. I just make the connection and then put it inside the wall and let the wire run through the hole in the plate. You have to take the plate off to plug and unplug but it looks a lot better.
