So far 6 TDs, only 1 pick and sacked 10 times. With that D, he should be throwing the ball a lot. Is Kubiak turning this guy into the QB many expected him to be? Any insight from those who have seen him play this year?

I believe so, I downloaded the Washington and Indy game and he looks pretty damn good when given 2+ seconds to throw the ball. I'm starting him over Hass and Favre this week, so here's to Carr keeping it up versus the Dolphins.

I think Carr has more upside. Moulds appears to have been a great compliment to Johnson and it's helping him get open more often. He finally seems to have a TE he's starting to trust too (Daniels).

If they would just settle on a RB it'd help Carr with stability as well in terms of blocking. Preaseason was full of RB whiffs on blocking assignments and the continual rotation was annoying because he never knew if the block would be made and it crept into his mind and made him get "happy feet."

Carr's numbers have been good with the exception of his passing yards (barely over 200 each week). I haven't seen any Texans games. Any insight as to why his YPA is low?

they are trying to establish the run at the beginning of the game. He is getting the bulk of his yardage and scores after the game is pretty much out of reach. The OL has looked like absolute crap, though a smidge better than last year in pass protection. Carr has played pretty good though, despite a pretty blah preseason. With how horrid the Texan's d is, Carr may very well be a decent fill in qb. I wouldn't bank anything on him just yet though. It's only been a whopping 3 games, and he had a similar stretch like this 2 years or so ago before he and the team went into the tank.

Agreed, yet somehow this guy is #10 in our league scoring. I swear he!! must've froze over. :X

Re: Carr's YPA

Looks like it's his career MO. He's actually on a career-high pace this year. :X

The rushing totals are a nice perk, tho. Probably that good because he's running for his life most of the time.

7.7 is pretty good for YPA. (It's currently 8th in the NFL.)

It's the 82 attempts that is killer. (Puts him at 25th in the NFL right now.) Not only that, the only qb's with a lower number of attempts, that have played all three weeks, are JP Losman and Michael Vick.

I'm guessing that's probably a combination of the Texans not being able to sustain drives, and not having the ball enough because their defense isn't stopping anyone.

Carr has always had alot of talent, he just doesn't have alot of talent around him. When that gets better so will he.

As a Texans fan who has seen every game, David still goes through strecthes where he makes silly mistakes, like the three fumbles last week. Though he only lost one, High School teams routinely handle the ball from center this kind of stuff needs to improve
