Sounds like Neimann will begin the season as #5.

The Rays FO is not looking to tinker with Price in the bullpen again. He will be a starter the second he hits the majors again.

Why would he start with the big league club? Niemann's a starter on any other team, he's out of options, and you have to think the Rays are looking to limit Price's IP's to the 170 range. Price will be up at some point whether it be to replace an injury or a traded Niemann.

Exactly. DP only pitched 130 innings last year, he won't go over 170 this year. Way easier to limit that in Durham for a month or two rather than in Tampa Bay.
