***David Wilson Bandwagon*** (2 Viewers)

Want me to post some more videos that show what Jacobs can do to help Eli in passing situations?

Nahhh ..... you prolly don't ... because then you would hafta admit that you didn't have a friggin clue what you were talking about.

Yo bro, you can't come in here talking about Brandon Jacobs. This is a train headed for elite NFL RB status. If you're not on you're off.

Stop raining on our parade with your hopes and dreams for your waiver wire grab. Jacobs was on the brink of retirement and can get you a yard when you need 6. If you think you've struck gold with him, I'll buy you a cab to the next cash for gold shop and we can get a couple of drinks out of it.

Sheesh.

That's not what I think or have said ... bro!

My God ... kids today can't friggin read? I give up. Jacobs is a bad blocker ... can't catch .... Wilson is elite .... you happy?

Now go make my coffee ... punk, and don't expect a tip. I'm old and cheap.

There's a lot of really clear evidence that shows how BJ has helped Eli both as a blocker and as a receiver in passing downs. I'm not making this stuff up, it actually happened. If you want to deny that these things happened ... that's absurd.

So .... pretty much I win ... and you look like stupid poo poo pants little kid that doesn't know WTF they are talking about.

You got a problem with that? Come at me bro!

Quick review:

I been a Giants fan since Lawrence Taylor was a rookie

Last year I took second place in the PFFL. The year before that I won my 12 team league full of Jewish realtors. This year in the FBGPC I am 4-0 so far.

So ... "bro" ... you maybe want to show a little respect ... and maybe listen to what I have to say. Lil bit.

The Giants are 0-4. The government has shut down. My job pays crap. Could you possibly pile anymore crap onto the pile I am already dealing with? Is it possible?

I gotta deal with some punk who thinks he has the Giants run game all figured out?

I swear to God, I do not need this right now.

Andre Brown ... in fantasy, redraft ... get him cheap now ... that's who you want.

Cool story

I said this before, Giants will miss Jacobs as a pass blocker and as someone who can wear down defenses. It's time to get back to what won the Giants 2 Superbowls.
I think this is wrong. It's probably more tiring for a defense to chase Wilson around the field than to ankle tackle Jacobs.

Jacobs doesn't have the power anymore and hasn't run with power for years. That's why he lost the starting job to Bradshaw.

Take last weeks game. Jacobs on a toss ran for 5 yards, needed one more yard for the 1st. A DB was the only obstacle and instead of bulling through him, Jacobs tries to juke and gets tackled. Result a 3-1.

I feel very Louis CK right now ... just mad at young people for being interested ... very cynical.

Look, I think the Giants ... and this is partially based on rumors that I heard from sources I can't reveal, that the Giants were trying to move up in the first round of the draft 2 years ago. They didn't ... but I think they were targeting Doug Martin. They wont admit that of course, will say they wanted Wilson the whole time, but I think Wilson was the fall back guy. If Martin was still there, they take Martin.

As a Giants fan, I hope Wilson is a hundred times better than Martin in the long run ... but I have to, particularly at the start of this year ... damper my expectations a little.

The last time the Giants really put it all in on a RB, he was the greatest RB in the history of the NCAA ... and they wasted too much time, hoping Ron Dayne would become a great RB in the NFL ... and it never happened.

Coughlin knows what he has with BJ. Wilson is still a project.

And Andre Brown. Don't forget Andre Brown, who ... all along I have been very high on, despite his broken leg.

What you guys don't get is that Jacobs is effectively like a huge TE. He's an excellent pass blocker and a decent receiver. The Giants have clearly been missing a RB that was an excellent pass blocker. They are going nowhere fast if they can't protect Eli. Brandon Jacobs real world value, to the Giants right now ... it's like 10 times his fantasy value.
That's what you attribute the Giants 0-4 start to?
Partially. Eli has been terrible. I watched last weeks game ... he's floundering ... part of that is he is not being protected properly by the RBs. None of the RBs can pass protect. Scott got cut over it. Wilson is on thin ice. Jacobs comes in and can pass protect ... maybe the offense can get back on track.

I mean, the Giants have all the pieces to be a high scoring passing offense ... oh yeah ... that's why the Broncos are starting the old veteran Moreno. Pass protection. Gold Jerry! GOLD! In the 9th round for me.
Bigger issue has been Baas and Snee playing when they could barley get out of their stance. Jacobs has been just as bad at pass blocking as the other RBs this year.

Way bigger problem. Snee to IR really sucks.

That's why I think that maybe the offensive line can kinda gel over the next 4-6 weeks and I expect more of a passing focused game we might see some return to fantasy relevance for the Giants run game week 10, when Andre Brown comes back ... but you are right, the offensive line might never be good this year.

Also, for the Giants ... the defense seems to have vanished. Someone needs to be a leader and pull together there ... help the offense be able to keep it real.

I like Prince. I love Piere-Paul ... it's insane that we didn't resign Blackburn and now we are trading for the guy that lost his job to ... none other than Chase Blackburn.

It's a bad year already. The only saving grace is the whole NFC East looks bad, so ... the division is still winable ... but if the Giants reach 0-5 ... forget it. Season's pretty much over.

Hopefully Hanlon is right that the Giants don't have proven depth not a lack of depth. I'm not so convinced. It's biting them in the butt that none of the mid to late round picks have developed into starters on the interior line.

Pugh's has been the 2nd best lineman, perhaps the best with the bad games Beatty has had. And Pugh would have sat if Diehl hadn't gotten hurt. I'm hoping this is a case of the coaches putting too much weight on experience. Wish they'd plugged the younger guys in earlier. At least they'd have more experience and the record could be any worse to this point.

I thought the Giants might have tanked on purpose to try and get Eli ... I think right now, they are tanking because they suck.

Really, a win this week ... there is still hope because the division is so bad ... but a loss ... historically, I know the Giants have come back and won some Superbowls when they were huge underdogs ... I can't remember them ever being 0-5. That's it ... season's over, man.

The defense has been on the field way too much. And I don't think they've played that bad for a Fewell defense. But I hate that this defense won't win games like the old Taylor or Strahan defenses. Seems to me like they don't attack and try to force turnover. Instead they hope for the opposing offense to make a mistake. That's not happening and offenses are dictating the flow of the game. I like seeing a defense impose it's will on the offense.

I think Wilson will have better games, but they might come too late for most fantasy squads.

My fondest memory of the Dave Brown era:

One time, back in the day, and there is video of this somewhere ... Dave Brown ... suckiest QB the Giants ever had, ran over Deion Sanders like he was a rag doll. Highlight of his career.

This is the week. I am trying like hell to sell Wilson before this weekend to be honest. Because it's make or brake time for him. If he can't muster up a 100+ combined this week I don't think he's got much of a shot moving forward. Andre Brown will step in and get his chance immediately upon his return unless Wilson takes this bull by the horns and soon.

All that said I am hoping to move him on out.

I don't think Brown will take over starting duties. The way the line has been playing Brown won't make any difference in rushing yards and keeping Eli upright.

Wilson actually played well for the crap blocking he got the past two weeks.

Another reason I dropped Wilson is that this thread is so hard to gain information from. 488 new posts since 2 days ago. Sheesh.

OG_GF are you in fact Brandon Jacobs? Honestly, I haven't heard a Giants fan give even a mildly positive review for Jacobs since friggin 2008. He's not even "not that good" he's just bad. End of story.

Brown is an average RB talent, nothing more, nothing less. And he's never been able to stay healthy for a few games at a time. Even if he did "take over for Wilson" it'd be for all of 2-3 weeks before another limb fell off.

We're also all forgetting that Brown looked AWFULLLLLLLL. In preseason, absolutely terrible. Hell, Cox looked better than him getting around 2ypc. I don't get this idea people have that Brown is gonna come back and somehow steal this job. He looked bad prior to the broken leg, post broken leg certainly isn't going to help him.

People really really need to stop using stats as a way of judging players performances. Stats tell a story, but more often than not they tell less than half the story. Wilson has been running hard and has had some of the best 2-3 yard runs I've seen in years. If you think Andre Brown or Jacobs are gonna be any better getting hit by two defensive lineman in the backfield. You're simply kidding yourself.

So 1st&10 and 2nd&5 are passing downs and situations? Alright, cochise.

There is going to be a lot of heartache again as it seems like Wilson is projected to breakout per every news source this week. Of course I am starting him over either CJ2K or Thompkins so I will be in here with my pitchfork all the same.

Jacobs had 20+ catches in a season exactly once in his career. Yeah, he is a major receiving threat.

I had to get my car inspected last week, and at the car dealer, some guy was wearing a NYG Brandon Jacobs jersey. He looked totally stoked that he was able to dust that bad boy off and rep it in public. I live in Virginia Beach. Any chance that was you who I saw, OG_GF?

I think we can all agree OG_GF is in fact Brandon Jacobs. Only Jacobs himself or a relative of him would talk him up that high. The rest of the NFL watching world knows he's a large plodding mess.

Just when I thought this thread couldn't possibly get any dumber, a new guy shows up to relentlessly pimp Brandon Jacobs. While giving us his fantasy resume, calling people punks, and throwing down "come at me bro." T with T's brother perhaps?

Pretty decent shtick by shark pool standards.

Wilson bandwagoners, anyone else predicting 100 combined yds and a score for Wilson this week at home vs. the Iggles? All aboard!

I've been saying since the Monday after Week 1 that this was the week he goes off. Still fully believe that. I'll say 120 total and 1 TD. Just feel like he's due for a massive break run. Figuring he'll put up like 60 on 15 carries and break one for 60.

Andre brown has been on 6 different teams and has 80 career carries and basically flops around from team to team. He makes darren mcfadden look durable. Man you need to quit digging your self in a hole. Your ######ed. We already went over all of this on like page 8.

If they want to win, maybe giving dwilson 20 plus carries and keepin him on the field for more then 48 percent of the snaps... U think?

maybe get wilson in the passing game a bit could they... I mean they don't even target the guy and he is a space player as well as between the tackles and is a above avg wr for a rb.

It's got to be David Wilson time. It's just got to.

The Giants' handling of their running backs this season has made almost no sense -- as if the Andre Brown injury in the final week of the preseason left them at a complete loss and they had no backup plan. Wilson complicated things by fumbling twice in the opener, but enough already. This is a Giants season going nowhere, and the team needs to find out what it's got for the future. Wilson has the talent to be a building-block piece, but if they don't loosen the reins he's not going to develop the way he needs to -- especially in terms of confidence. With Da'Rel Scott off the roster and Brandon Jacobs showing very little, the Giants should let Wilson be the feature back they drafted him to be. And if he can't handle it, then at least they'll know that in time for next offseason.

We're slacking. There's so much more to discuss here. Let get to 90 pages before kickoff guys.

yes agreed... Let's keep this train rolling... 120 and 2 tds would be huge with 2 for 24 rec.... that would make fantasy owners super excited... 31 points with the 3 point bonus for 100 rushing... I need that to have any chance this week.

This is true. As a owner of him in dynasty this is what I want to know. Is he a guy I have to match up play this season because he will be the guy but he needs another year to grow into the role more like a Spiller, or Charles, plus the Giants suck. Or is time to get what I can for him and free up a roster spot instead of holding onto him for another 2 years hoping he turns into the next Thomas Jones, but is more likely to even up like Mark Ingram.
