Day games (1 Viewer)

Why are there so many weekday day games at the start of the baseball season? Is it a colder-at-night worry? I would think the days games, if there were a set #, would be saved for the summer time when kids are out of school, more people on vacation etc.

Or maybe it's not the case at all and I'm just sick of missing the Tiger games. Or maybe it's a blessing.

Home openers are traditionally day games. I think every team has held their home openers now, so the weekday schedules should return to normal with matinees on getaway days.

Plus, there are games where it has to be a day game per the CBA IIRC. For example, if an east coast team plays the next night on the west coast, that game on "get away day" is a day game. Usually a game like this is on Wednesday or Thursday.

I think it's a weather thing. Since it is warmer when the sun is out the Tigers and other northern teams have more day games early on.
