Apologies if this has been mentioned, but I couldn't find it anywhere and Clark is being projected to play 16 games. It was mentioned during coverage of last week's preseason game that Ryan Clark cannot play in Denver during Week 1 as he faced a life-threatening situation the last time he attempted to play at altitude. This from CBS before the January playoff game:
Clark won't play in Denver: Pittsburgh DB Ryan Clark will not be able to play on Sunday in the AFC Wild Card game at Denver. Clark has a sickle cell trait and cannot play football in the high altitude of Denver. In 2007, Clark lost his spleen, gall bladder and 30 pounds after playing football at a high altitude plus playing with the sickle-cell trait in Denver. Clark consulted a doctor recently, who helped make the decision for him not to play.
