DE Myles Garrett, CLE (2 Viewers)

It's a shame Garrett is likely going to spend is whole career in Cleveland. They had some good defenses and made the playoffs twice but I don't think they were ever real contenders. He's such a great player, just the prototypical DE.

Three broken records on the day.
FIRST surpasses Reggie White.
Browns' Myles Garrett Makes NFL History After Breaking This Reggie White Sack Record
... The Cleveland Browns pass-rusher sacked Drake Maye during Sunday's game against the New England Patriots, which gave him 108.5 for his career. It also meant he passed Reggie White for the most sacks before turning 30 years old in NFL history:
SECOND breaks his own franchise record for sacks in a single game.
Myles Garrett breaks Browns franchise record with five sacks, slams helmet in anger in blowout loss to Patriots
... Garrett was a menace throughout the contest. By the end of the first half, Garrett had already registered three sacks. After picking up another sack in the third quarter, Garrett broke the Browns' franchise record with a little over 11 minutes to play in the fourth quarter.
With his fifth sack, Garrett broke ... his own record. Garrett first set the Browns' franchise sack record after picking up 4.5 sacks during a 2021 game against the Chicago Bears...
... Following his five-sack game, Garrett has now registered double-digit sacks in his eighth-straight season. The performance also gives him 112.5 career sacks in 9½ NFL seasons.
THIRD sets NFL record for most consecutive years of double-digit sacks.
The record for the most consecutive years with double-digit sacks is held by Myles Garrett, who has achieved this feat for eight straight seasons.

If he wanted to play for a winner, he shouldn't have signed that contract. Nobody wants to see his tears now. Helluva talent but c'mon Myles. You coulda pulled a Parsons and be playing for a contender AND get paid.

Myles didn't slam his helmet in disgust due to the offense sucking, but that would have been justified.
He was angry because he got PULLED from the game even though the Pats kept their starters in.
He already had FIVE sacks and was 2 away from tying the NFL record for a single game.
He was in a sack-frenzy zone and wanted to stay in the game to have a shot at the ALL-TIME NFL single game sack record.
“I’m frustrated. I want to win. I don’t care how much time is on the clock. If there’s a chance we can win, I want to be a part of that,” Garrett told reporters.
“I don’t care how dire the situation looks. I hate coming out in those situations and the inevitability, not being able to do anything about it..."
People ALWAYS take things out of context for clicks.
Plain and simple, he frustrated because he wanted to stay in the game.

Perhaps he's showing signs of cte already cuz there was NO shot for the Browns to win that game when he was pulled. Delusional or selfish. Staying in to go after a stupid sack record and putting himself in harms way in a game way out of hand would be malfeasance on the part of the coaching staff.

36+ in my home league.

75.7+ in my big play IDP scoring league. :jawdrop:

I’m feeling extremely fortunate to be facing the Garrett shareholder in all 3 of my IDP leagues in week 9, with Myles on the BYE.

I'm in 1 IDP dynasty league where I've had him for his entire career. 52 points for week 8.

I don't think it was the original intent, but it's been this way for 9 seasons now so we've left it--Sacks are worth 9.5 points in our set up. 6 points for the actual sack. But it also counts as a tackle (1.5) AND a tackle for loss (2) on sleeper.

I've won the league 4/8 seasons and am currently sitting in 2nd place in the now 9th season. The elite DL's have been so key. I had Cam Jordan for a while. I've got Garrett, Crosby, Parsons now, and play matchups. I managed to snag Abdul Carter this year. Here's hoping he's a dude.

A least Mike Trout made the playoffs a couple times
Ever watch a game or just take cheap shots?

Check out the first play of this playoff game.
Myles has played in two other playoff games but eh, that is for people who watch games, not you.
Sorry the pandemic playoffs were a lifetime ago. Wasn't a cheap shot, but rather agreement that he is probably the best player in the league. Trout helping to illustrate that sometimes the best player has no chance for postseason success.
