Deangelo Williams? Are you starting him? (1 Viewer)

They play the rams who are a suspect run d, will the panthers ride Foster all game and hit Smith up top or will Deangelo also get some carries to be worthy of a start.

I'm thinking of starting him at flex over Carnell Williams.

not a smart move - take the guy you KNOW will get carries . . .

Got both Foster and DeWill. But i'll be starting Foster in my flex spot and DeWill will be ridin the pine.

I know its the wrong forum, but im leaning towards Foster over Caddy this week...Seattle D looks solid and the Rams/Panthers matchup promises to be a high scoring contest

I don't see how anyone can justify starting DeAngelo in Week One. I"m going to assume that unless you're in a 16-teamer, Williams isn't your RB2 (based on your order of draft picks); and he IS NOT starting for the Panthers; DeShaun Foster is.

I just watched CBS' start sit video (thought it might put me to sleep) and Sweet Butta was on there.... along w/ Deuce and Henry.

CBS Sits:

Portis

Dunn

T. Jones

The Seahawks just lost their best run stuffer (Tubbs) for the year - their run defense last year was awful when he was out . . . Caddy's D this week (Panthers) is much more stout with Morgan back and Beason on the 2nd level . . . bringing up the fact that Williams doesnt even START is just gravy . . .

Good reply guys, I guess its good he's my RB4

I'll play Carnell at flex (I don't call him Caddy until he proves he has that nickname.

I'm torn between Williams against a fairly soft defense vs. LT against the vaunted Bears.

Right now I'm leaning slightly toward LT.

wish i didn't have to but i'm going to start DeWill in my Flex as my #3RB. Over choices like Furrey and Welker.

i think he has a chance to put up good numbers on STL's D, backup or not.

if i was you i'd start Caddi over Dewill.

I'm starting him over my WR5(Can't remember who it is... but Bobby Engram is my 4) and Anthony Thomas.

I'm considering starting Williams over Brandon Jacobs this week at RB2. RB scoring in the league is 1/20, 6 TD which leans a little in the favor of Jacobs for a goal line smash, but D. Will against that soft Rams D sounds pretty appealing. David Dodd's projections put Jacobs at 20 for 79 and Williams at 9 for 41. I see the Giants getting behind and throwing more than I see that for Carolina. Almost had myself talked out of it...almost.

Thankfully (I think), I don't have to worry about the DeAngelo problem again this year. It burned the hell out of me last season.

The way I'd play, from past experience, is to not start DeAngelo over any established starter, or RB who's on record as getting the majority of the carries.

I know the temptation of him vs. a weak Rams defense seems like a good idea, but you'll hate yourself when DeShaun gets 25 carries and DeAngelo gets 5.

And I especially wouldn't start him over Jacobs and Caddy. Jacobs has a tough matchup, but you know he'll get the ball...and I actually like Caddy a little bit this week and am not sure why people are projecting him as a 'sit' against Seattle.

I took over a zealots team taht needs some work so yes, I am starting him.Over Marcel Shipp. :goodposting:
I can do one (or two) better - starting over Shipp, Jerome Harrison, [The other] Adrian Peterson, and Ryan Grant - as my RB2.A dynasty porker I took on last year - needless to say, my RB1 is Adrian Peterson - and I will be keeping my eye out for this year's best college RB :blackdot:

Not that this is really new "news," but here's some confirmation on DeShaun Foster as the starting RB. One bit that is interesting is the anticipated split in carries:

Panthers make Foster No. 1 RB

DeShaun Foster, RB CAR

News: The Panthers have officially named RB DeShaun Foster their starter to open the season Sunday at the Rams. He'll still split carries with DeAngelo Williams, but The Sports Xchange also reports that, if the Panthers have their way, the breakdown would have Foster getting about two carries to every one for Williams.

Analysis: This news certainly changes both backs' Fantasy prospects, at least for Week 1. Of course, given Foster's shaky injury history, the Panthers might not end up having their way, making Williams still the better Fantasy option long-term. Really, the Panthers have one of the scarier running back situations in all of Fantasy, as neither Foster nor Williams stands to make a real impact unless one succumbs to injury. And you don't want to spend all season praying for that, do you? Consider neither back better than a No. 3 option to start the season -- and even that's probably in deeper leagues.
Not sure how credible "The Sports Xchange" is.

What's wrong with some of you? He's a backup. He's not very good. Unless your other options consist of Selvin Young and Cedric Houston, I can't think of any reason you'd seriously consider starting him.

Some people really need a good punch to the face.

I agree with you on the back-up comment. To say that he's not any good hasn't been proven in the short time he's been in the NFL. He started last year against the Rams and rushed for over 100 yds.

Sportsline reports that Foster is starting and will get 2 to 1 carries vs DW. Take it for what it's worth: Nada.

14 team, 3 keeper, PPR, start QB/2RB/2WR/TE/K/D

I'm stuck between Adrian Peterson (Min) and Deangelo as my RB2.

As of now, Peterson is in my starting lineup.

With gues like Deangelo, Peterson and Kevin Jones on my roster, I'm hoping to weather the storm for the first half of the season, stay in the hunt, and have some quality RB depth for the second half.
