Dear Manny,
I have an opportunity to pick up your old friend, David Ortiz, off my waiver wire very cheaply in my big money fantasy league. Since I know there is no way you will be heading back to Boston to provide protection for him, I was wondering if you could do the following: You obviously have no use for all of the syringes you took from Boston, or the "good stuff" you were using there, so could you please send it back to Ortiz?? Apparently his source has "dried up" and there is no one he can trust to help him shoot it into his ###. I know, there is always Pedroia, but you know how selfish he is.
Now driving it across the country is probably a felony, but the Sox are scheduled to be on the West Coast for another few days. Maybe you can take a trip up to Oakland or something...you have the time
You have to feel for the big lug. He was the only guy to stand up for you when the rest of Red Sox Nation Tar and Feathered you like they do with the rest of the minority ballplayers who have ever played for their team once their usefulness wears thin.
Now he is being outhomered by Brett Gardner! Exactly! I'll wait until you're done laughing...
