I've been lucky enough to go the the USS Arizona Memorial at Pearl Harbor. Very sobering experience, and a reminder of the sacrifices of our military men and women. They have a large wall there that lists all that died that day.

The part that really got to me were the ones who's final wishes were to be entombed with their shipmates that died that day.

Anyway, I'll never forget Pearl Harbor.

never forget.

And i hate that when I went to pearl harbor there were a million Japanese there taking pictures and acting like it was a great victory or something for them, #### them guys

My grandfather survived the attack on Pearl Harbor. He was at an army airfield on the north side of the island. I loved that man.

I was also offended at the amount of photographically excited Japanese at the memorial the two times I've visited. I wonder if they even have a memorial at Hiroshima?

Just read a book about Pearl Harbor. Filled a large gap in my knowledge of WW2 history. RIP to all the brave soldiors and thanks to the servicemen for defending our country.

You sure that's what was happening?
I always wondered what were in their thoughts the couple of times I was there and saw a lot of Japanese tourists. For their military, that would have been one of their greatest triumphs. But I never saw any victory dances or laughter or anything like that from Japanese tourists. I saw a quiet reverence, and more of a show of respect for the dead, because it was those dead that led to a lot of anguish for the Japanese later.
