Deep League Desperation - Week 6 (1 Viewer)

I've seen a lot of teams in some serious hurt this week with byes. I'd like to discuss those players that might be available in deep leagues that could produce this week. It's much worse in dynasty leagues if you've got a hole than in a redraft, as the depth tend to be even thinner.

I am working under the following assumptions - you can feel free to assume a slightly larger pool of players:

1. All starting QB's are rostered by someone.

2. All main RB's, parts of a RBBC, and the big 5 rookies are rostered.

3. The top 2 WR from each team so far this season are rostered.

My choices for potential production:

QB:

Romo, DAL - Bledsoe could be done in DAL soon, and a bad start might get him yanked.

Griese, CHI - got in in garbage time last week. Could do the same this week.

Batch, PIT - Ben has looked horrible so far. batch looked good week 1, and the Steelers need a win.

Tuiasosopo, OAK - Walter got pulled last week. It could happen again.

RB:

Strong, SEA - good for a few catches a week, and will see a few carries here & there while Alexander is out.

Moats, PHI- I consider that Buckhalter would be more likely rostered.

Arrington, ARI - I think CHI crushes them, and they rest Edge. Arrington involved in passing game.

Blaylock, NYJ - should be active this week.

Davenport, PIT - finally got some looks

WR:

Reed/Parrish, BUF - it gets easier this week, one or both might be on your wire.

Hakim, DET - Williams injury gives him a shot to produce

Hall, KC - getting a few throws every week. Could bust you a return TD if that scores for you.

Johnson, ARI - obvious with Fitz going down, but definitely should be on the list.

Baskett, PHI - Had the big week this week, but he's better than Lewis. If Stallworth stays hurt, he's a pickup.

What do you think?

Here are some key Free Agents in my 14 team, 18 +2 IR, keeper league (waivers don't run until tommorow) that will contribute in week 6:

QB:

Harrington

Huard

RB:

Herron, Noah

Smith, Musa

Washington, Leon

WR

Welker, Wes WR MIA

Engram, Bobby WR SEA

I'd grab any of the guys on your list immediately if I was needy.

Engram & Welker are money in a PPR, and hey, if there are starting QB's on waivers it helps out a ton. I like Wahington & Herron. Musa I think is behind Anderson for the feature role, but he'll get some plays.

I was aiming for "what of the non-starters might help you this week".

I'm in a league where all but one or two of the guys I listed are rostered, so that tells you how ugly things could get. :bag:

I guess most people don't have bye week problems so major they arescrambling this deeply.
lol--or a league quite so decimated of waiver wire fodder! :D 'fraid I'm no help, after having to drop back to one league this year, and it being a 10-team limited roster. I'm rolling into week 7 with 8 players on bye from a roster of 14--but with rentals available (for a pretty penny of course) figure I'll just have to try buying my way through that one. Figure I'm short two RB/WR and one kicker, and will be playing my backup QB and D/ST. There are generally threads in preseason about totally throwing one week with byes for the benefit of the rest--but I actually set this up by accident...

I understand, I see there's now a WR-specific thread out there. It's been a while since I've seen no starting QB's on a wire.
