Defense By Committee in 2010 ? (1 Viewer)

With teams such as Seattle, Cleveland, StLouis, Buffalo, and possibly Detroit and Tampa Bay expected to finish so poorly this year - is taking their opponents each week as a defense by committee the best strategy this year? Or is riding one defense with a bye week replacement the way to go?

Pretty sure this is the best strategy every year. I'll draft Miami in a lot of leagues this year cause they play Buffalo week 1.

I wouldn't include Detroit in the gimme list.

Hey Thrifty,The Miami front 7 is in shambles, no outside pass rush, front line is in flux, one of our starters beat up his gal and will be getting a suspension from Goodell to go with Ferguson already out 8 games...it's not good.

a strategy I am looking at is targeting SD this year and only taking one DST....their schedule looks pretty cake and they have a week 10 bye which means you don't have to worry for the first 9 weeks and then just pick up a WW replacement for week 10.......they do have to go to Indy and have a home game against NE but not much else that makes you freak out...

but to answer your question, I usually don't make the decision about what strategy to use until after my draft has started...if the time is right and the value is there (scoring system) then it is nice to take a stud DST and not worry about it....instead of playing matchups and working the WW all year....which I often get wrong more than right....

That's why you drop them week 2 for Oakland (who get STL at home).
