I took out Chicago and Baltimore for obvious reasons. My Leauge scoring is a little light on defense scoring (6-TD, 1 turnover, 2 safety, 5 for shutout, and 6pts-0pts based on yardage) so keep that in mind.

Interesting note, Buffalo and Pittsburgh have the same bye week, but still ranked on top of the list...

For reference, in my league Chicago is projected at 146pts and Baltimore at 136.5.

I would think that you'd need to remove a few more of the top defenses if you expect this to be a real workable Defense by committee comparison. I'm pretty sure that most teams that draft CAR, JAX & PIT aren't considering them committee type defenses. Now this does show which 2nd tier defense is going to complement them the best, but that is not a true "committee" where the starts would splitclose to 50/50. Some of these are probably more along the lines of 80/20 or 70/30 type splits which is not much of a "committee" situation.

Buffalo appears in 6 of the top 8 and 13 of the overall 30. Suggests grabbing Buffalo and waiting until very, very late to pair them with a less popular option.

If you look at their schedules at the beginning of the season and end of the season, Miami and San Francisco look like a very good combo.

I wouldn't try to use total season points as a reference either. I'd see based on the schedule how two teams can play relatively weak opponents opposite each other to give you the maximum when you start them.

Okay, I have taken out my top 5 defenses (Chicago, Baltimore, Minnesota, Jacksonville, and Carolina) and also took Pittsburgh out, although I think they will have a big decline this year. This is what I have come up with.

As you can see Buffalo is in a lot of combinations, but I think their defense will be good this year, and may not be able to be used in a committee. Therefore, I listed 30 rather than just the top ten. I have weekly breakdowns as well, but not sure how best to get that attached.

1… 151--Buffalo/Philadelphia

2… 151--New York Jets/Arizona

3… 147--Dallas/Philadelphia

4… 146--Buffalo/Oakland

5… 146--New York Jets/Tennessee

6… 143--Buffalo/Tennessee

7… 143--Buffalo/San Diego

8… 143--Buffalo/New York Jets

9… 143--Buffalo/Green Bay

10… 142--Buffalo/Miami

11… 142--Dallas/New York Jets

12… 141--Buffalo/San Francisco

13… 141--Philadelphia/New York Jets

14… 141--New York Jets/Kansas City

15… 140--New York Jets/Indianapolis

16… 140--Buffalo/New England

17… 140--Tennessee/Houston

18… 139--Buffalo/Washington

19… 138--Buffalo/Tampa Bay

20… 138--Buffalo/Arizona

21… 138--Buffalo/Cincinnati

22… 138--Dallas/Tennessee

23… 138--Buffalo/Seattle

24… 138--Arizona/San Francisco

25… 137--New York Jets/Miami

26… 137--Philadelphia/San Francisco

27… 137--New York Jets/New England

28… 136--Buffalo/Dallas

29… 135--Philadelphia/Arizona

30… 134--Buffalo/Kansas City

For comparison purposes...BLOX, I have Miami/San Francisco as the #71 combination at 131pts possible. That is after taking out (Carolina, Chicago, Baltimore, Minnesota, and Jacksonville). I kept Pittsburgh in the mix. Take Pittsburgh out and move them up to #56.
