Jacob deGrom is done tonight. Pitch Count: 80 Innings pitched: 6 Hits: 1 Strikeouts: 10 Walks: 0

His ERA is now 0.56. That's the lowest ERA for any pitcher in MLB history through 10 starts. He's thrown 22 straight scoreless innings.

I went camping with deGrom … I’m in the back of a pickup with Jacob deGrom and a live deer. Well, deGrom, he grabs the deer by the antlers, looks at it and says, ‘I’m Jacob Degrom! Say it!’ Then he squeezes the deer in such a way that a sound comes out of its mouth — “jacobdegrom!” It wasn’t exactly it, but it was pretty good for a deer.

Is this original?

@AnthonyDiComo: UPDATE: Jacob deGrom left tonight's game due to right flexor tendonitis.
@AnthonyDiComo: Jacob deGrom says he felt his flexor injury this week between starts. "I'm not too concerned about it," deGrom said.

"I've had a couple elbow issues before, and I know what that feels like. So my level of concern is not too high."

Says he hopes to miss no time at all.

101Ks in 64 Innings...

“DeGrom's seventh strikeout gave him 100 on the season. According to ESPN Stats & Information research, that is the fewest innings by a starter to reach 100 strikeouts in a single season since the mound moved to its current distance in 1893.”

I'll have what he's having.

Stop posting here! I swear ever since this thread started he has dealt with one issue after another.  This is bad MOJO

DeGrom's three shutout innings lowered his ERA to 0.54 -- he's given up only four earned runs -- while his RBI gave him six on the season. He has 111 strikeouts in 67 innings.

Putin must be a Mets fan.

@JeffPassan: Jacob deGrom left tonight’s start, in which he threw three perfect innings and struck out eight, with right shoulder soreness.

@mviser: "In life there is no happiness. There’s only the specter of happiness,” President Putin says.

And the one hit today was a deep fly ball that fell between the OFs because of poor communication, possibly shadows, and most definitely from Almora's "face crashing into the wall"- related PTSD.

Did I ever tell you about the time deGrom took me out to go get a drink with him? We go off looking for a bar and we can't find one. Finally deGrom takes me to a vacant lot and says, 'Here we are.' We sat there for a year and a half and sure enough someone constructs a bar around us. The day they opened we ordered a shot, drank it, and then burned the place to the ground. DeGrom yelled over the roar of the flames, 'Always leave things the way you found em!'

:sadbanana:

Some bad news for deGrom owners and Met fans . It appears that we're looking at a September return, at the earliest.

"Jacob deGrom has been shut down from throwing for two weeks after being diagnosed with additional inflammation in his right arm.

. Mets manager Luis Rojas said Friday that it wasn't a concern that deGrom skipped his normal throwing session on Friday, but now we know the bad news. He'll require time to ramp back up after his shut down, so the best-case scenario probably has him rejoining the Mets rotation at the beginning of September. Just a brutal blow for the Mets and for fantasy managers."

To show how good of a season deGrom was having, he hasn't pitched since before the All-Star game and he's still the top ranked pitcher and 4th overall player in our FBG fantasy league
