Denver v. New England (1 Viewer)

A common Seau stat line throughout his career... via poor anlges, overpursuit, and juiced up on lord knows what....1 tackle.... 11 assists... "assists".... right.
Aren't assists where you don;t make the first hit, but oyu help wrap the guy up?P.S. - a ben watson sighting!

I still believe when down 10 late that you kick the FG first. This is because the opponent at that point is not the other club - its the clock. You need to be as efficient as possible and get those 10 points in as few plays as you can. If you get in FG range and don't kick it right away, run some more plays, get closer, then wind up having to kick the FG anyway, you've only wasted precious time.
No, you try to score no matter what. Take your shots at the end zone and take the FG if that's all you can get.Remember, you still need a TD no matter what.

Agree, the other issue is that if time runs out you can throw a hail marry from a lot further back than you can kick the FG from.

Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho

Great NFL highlight HIT on Faulk. Good to see Faulk bounce up and give the whatever.... what a fun hit though.

Madden... do everyone a favor... and ... just hit the head of the mental ingestion.

I think that approach is taking an unneccessary risk. Its hard enough as it is, why add the possibility that you've wasted time?

Sounds like you have the NE kicker going tonight?

Well as I posted I agree with him, and I've got Brady going tonight.

You need 10. Explain to me how you're going to get that without going for the end zone.

You go for the EZ on the second possession. You kick the FG as soon as possible to save time needed to get the ball back and to run that second drive. You don't know how much time you'll need to do those things, so get to the second possession ASAP.

We all know Belichick is the best HC in the league. But this is the second week in a row that he's made a really, really big head scratcher late in the game. Winning Super Bowls will let you make lots of bad calls.

Five out of six for the Broncos here.

Wish I could disagree with you but you're 100% spot on. Made ZERO sense to take the delay of game last week and not kicking the FG here is even more puzzling...

Do you thinks its possible for the Jets to win the division this year?
No.But maybe the Pats/Dolphin assumed stranglehold is not as solid as it looked before the season.Either way, the Pats do not look as crappy as the other three teams in that division (and I am a 'phin homer)

Ok, I don't get going for it on 4th and 1 when down by 10.
I'm with you. Seems just plain dumb.
I think because they only had one timeouthow are they going to march down the field and get the field goal.... won't happen get the quick strike... TDonside... one pass play... timeout... field goal... they don't have time otherwise.

This game was like every other Pats/Broncos game. They run the ball down the Pats throat and make basically 2 plays in the passing game.

1:07 with a timeout isn't enough time to go 50 yards for Tom Brady? Uh...since when?

The best thing that could happen for the Pats is this early bye week after week 4. They need an extra week of practice to get Doug Gabriel more familiar with the offense.

He was pretty much the only bright spot for NE tonight.

I think DEN just has their number. Maroney and Watson looked good in spots but it seemed DEN had their schemes mapped out. I benched the DEN DEF for WW p/up DET vs GB. Yes...I got and I am hammered. :banned:

I don't know why he wasn't involved in the 1st half. I thought the Oline blocked pretty well tonight. Brady typically had lots lot time, just nobody getting open, or he missed them when they did. Running lanes we lacking, and not up with the passing. The offensive game plan was less than stellar to say the least. Very few WR screens. Defensively, they were constantly 8-10 yards off of the wR's of the Broncos. Very little pressure. Looked like it would have been a good night to move to a 4-3, because we got gashed a few number of times, though as a whole they didn't kill us w/ the run. The two big pass plays are what did it. One was just a great play, the other looked like a blown coverage over the top. Had lots of trouble getting off the field on 3rd down tonight. Kudos to the Broncos. Played a good game tonight. Protected the ball well. Flawless in the punting game. Pinned the Pats time and again. As for Madden and the field goal block. It was a good play from the Broncos. They blocked it. Yeah, Gostkowski slipped, but it was blocked. Like most announcers, he talks to hear his voice. I don't think he's watching the game half the time. Can be insightful at times, but often it's like he's not even watching, but just saying what he's told to say.
