i know he's been struggling. true, he's played two of the toughest teams in the NFL: Dallas on the road and Pitt in bad weather. and, true that his #1 WR has a case of the dropsies (7, i believe, in 2 games). and, true, it looks like his HC can't manage a game. but this is all i get from reading. can homers or anyone shed some light on anderson. he was a preseason top 5-10 QB on most rankings and now has dropped out of sight. i don't see him bouncing back to his one-hit wonder year levels, but will he return to a respectable 250-2 TD performance/game? he's got a tough schedule but a great OLine. seems like a perfect buy-low candidate.

Personally I wouldn't do.

Browns have a tough matchup @ Baltimore this weekend and a toss up game at Cinci the following.

A bye then the NYG. This team could easily be 1-4 or 0-5. Every loss is going to be one step closer to Quinn getting more PT.

Bottom line is if you think the Browns will make a playoff run, go get him. If not, pass.

If his owner has reached a panic level and he has became incredibly cheap I think the risk is worth the reward. His next two matchups are quite favorable.

I think he will improve, but I wouldn't count on him as my #1 guy. if you can give up almost nothing to get him I say go for it.

FWIW they played Dallas in Cleveland.

Problem is, he was overrated to begin with.

Look at his last 7 games of 2007, it was a huge drop-off from his first 8 games of 2007. He really only had 5 good games last year (based on either 3 TDs or passer rating over 100) This happens a lot to new starting QBs (most recently Leinart and Young), regardless of their pedigree. Once the NFL gets enough games on these guys they can see a pattern and exploit their weaknesses. It is Anderson's job to adjust and become a consistent producer.

I question if he was ever really legit top 10 QB to begin with since he was a 6th round pick that couldn't beat out Kyle Boller in BAL. In other words, he hasn't don't much to be consdier a full-time starter in 12 team leagues IMO.

I take the opposite opinion, its a great time to sell him because his stock won't be any higher than it is right now..as Cleveland continues to play lousy football, eventually, soemthing has to give.I'd expect Quinn to get the start after the by week if things continue as they are right now...this team is a disaster  :lmao:

Although the Eagles didnt have too much difficulty throwing against Dallas.......

I am taking a flyer on Brady Quinn. I'm not getting a good feeling about Derek remaining the starter for much longer.

Anyone else think this is a good time to jump on Quinn if he's available?

Did Philly WRs drop 25% or more of McNabb's pass attempts? Anderson attempted 24 passes against Dallas. Edwards dropped 5, including a long TD, and Steptoe dropped another... not sure if that was all their drops or not. Not only would Anderson have gotten yards and a TD if those weren't dropped, he also would have attempted more passes as drives were kept alive... leading to more yards and maybe TDs.IMO Anderson hasn't played well. But he has played better than his numbers, given the drops, weather conditions in game 2, and lousy coaching. I expect him to play better.

You can't have it both ways though...Anderson has his job because he threw up jump ball after jump ball last year where B. Edwards went up and got it. I'd buy if it were very cheap but if I owned him I'd be looking to sell. I think he'll do better but the problem with his situation is if he continues to struggle and they lose a few more games there's a good chance that they won't give him a long leash and will pull him in favor of Quinn.

I would think he has to improve.

He was great last year.

Still has Edwards and Winslow. The power running game seems on track.

WHAT HAPPENED?

cake schedule last year that he feasted on and a tough one this year. Also, teams get film on you, learn what you do well and try to take that away from you. If you can't adjust you lose your job if you can you keep it. I think he's on the bubble right now...

I tried to find a good source for dropped passes and found several that conflict with each other. I have seen 2, 4, 5, and 7 drops reported for Edwards for the season to date. I have seen Winslow, Steptoe, and Cribbs all shown with 1 drop. I think it's fair to say that the Browns are among the league leaders in drops. And drops does not equate to opportunities where receivers could have made plays but didn't. Edwards is expected to do this, and did it a lot last year. When you have players with that kind of ability, you give them opportunities to make plays. He's not doing it so far.Anderson can and will play better, but other things (tough defenses, bad weather in one game, poor coaching, poor receiver play) have collectively contributed more to the poor start than Anderson has IMO. It is also worth noting that they are missing Stallworth and Jurevicius; at some point, they will get one or both of them back. Jurevicius in particular would probably help out.I don't see them going to Quinn until and unless they are out of the playoffs. They are a long way from there.

I guess my point is that if they start 1-5 and he doesn't play particularly well, Romeo will be under pressure to make a switch. They are 0-2 right now and have scored 16 pts (1 td) and he's 29/56 (51%) 280 yrds - 1 -2. There may be reasons for it but those numbers are downright ugly and numbers aside the most important thing is winning. It might not make the team better but with a potentially talented high draft choice on the bench that has already sold a ton of jersey's and the pressure will increase every week that he plays poorly and the team loses. They play @ Balt, then @ Cinn, vs. the Giants, @ Was, @ JAX, vs. Balt, vs. Den, then Indy, Tenn, Philly, Cin and Pitt. He's got a brutal schedule and these next two weeks are absolutely critical IMO that he win and play well. After that they don't look to have any games besides maybe Cincy that they'll be a favorite for for the rest of the year....

I understand your point. I'll be surprised if they start 1-5. If they do, you may be right. I still expect 7+ wins, and IMO that is not a recipe for Quinn to play until the end of the season when they are eliminated from the playoff race.

i traded FOR him today. i gave up a 3rd round pick (5 round draft in a keeper league) for him. That equates to a spot where I would draft a DB or DL, so I'm more than happy to take the gamble. now i have to decide whether to hang on to david garrard, or just cut him. i hope anderson can turn it around, but if he doesn't i'll be ready to jump on the brady quinn bandwagon.
