Derek Anderson (1 Viewer)

Not sure what The Whis is waiting for exactly or what he expects to see from this guy. At this point Derek Anderson is what he is. His confidence is at an all time low. He knows his offense struggling is mostly on him. I don't see this guy turning it around. When are these coaches who get paid millions going to realize this as well and make a change? I don't know anything about the backups, anyone but Anderson has to be an upgrade though right?

Any homers hearing any rumblings down there of what is going on?

My son lives in Phoenix and he says he is hearing that Whis is going to stay with DA as long as they are winning and in the race.

:bag: I think Hall stays on the bench as long as the Cardinals can eek out wins. Given the state of the NFC West, that may be longer than most realize.

At least you have a son  I got two daughters who think Clay Matthews has girl hair.
At least you have 2 daughters that like Clay's hair. My son is a Bears fan. ;)
Thats bad parenting right there. My kids will not grow up as Cowboy fans. If they choose it after 18, then so be it.

RING...RING...RING...CLICK.

"Hello?"

"Hello, Kurt? Coach Whisenhunt. Just wondering... getting bored with retirement yet?"

"C'mon coach, you know how it is. Brenda won't let me. We've talked about this before."

"Yeah, I know. Just thought I'd try. See ya."

I have to agree.the longer you can afford to give him to develop, the better it will be for the team.inevitably, there will come a time where the kid wont improve if he doesnt play, but that time has yet to arrive (in my opinion)so the smart thing would be to let him grow in his current role while they can get away with it.cuz once you change starters, there's usually no going back.

Not sure where you are getting your information for those suppositions, but they are NOT on target.....Yes DA is not even a good quarterback and very frustrating to watch if you are either a Cardinal fan or more likely I suspect a Fitzgerald owner........BUT Whiz gave the job to Anderson because he had less confidence in Leinart and because they thought that neither Hall or Skelton would make it to the practice squad without being claimed by another team and they didn't want to carry four quarterbacks. While DA is still the model of inconsistency - guy has a cannon much better than half of current NFL quarterbacks but virtually no touch on many shorter throws and absolutely no accuracy on any throws - he has the 4th Highest QB rating in the fourth quarter through the first three weeks this year.

So in a very weak division where 9-7 is a virtual lock to win and get to the playoffs (maybe 8-8 or even 7-9) Whiz will hope that Anderson can get more familiar with the offense and his teammates and be adequate. That does not mean that a switch to Hall might not happen IF Anderson fails - it almost happened last week, but it won't happen until the Cards can't win because of the QB play AND remember that the wide receiver corps that will be on the field in San Diego this week aside from Fitzgerald had a TOTAL of zero catches in the NFL prior to this season, so as bad as Anderson has been, he isn't working with much and will have to be worse to lose the job.

That said many of us have seen a backup quarterback thrust into service have much better rapport with secondary receivers than the starter, so if Anderson was ofer the first quarter this Sunday I could see Hall getting a call to the bullpen. I don't see Hall starting unless it is a home game and against the Saints would be unlikely so again only if Anderson is terrible I think the first time he would start would be Week 8 at home vs Tampa Bay.....but the moneyline says Anderson is still the starter then.

He could probably get $25M to play the final 13 games. Is there ANYONE who still doesn't think Warner is a Hall of Famer?Forget being number 1, 2 & 3 on the list of most Super Bowl passing yards. Forget taking two previously-awful franchises to the Super Bowl. Just look at this offense in Arizona without Warner. It's a disaster.

DEREK ANDERSON IS KILLING INDEPENDENT LARRY!!!
