Looks like he will play, but not much if Herm can be believed here.KC Star

Coach Herm Edwards said he expected linebacker Derrick Johnson, who hasn’t played since injuring his ankle last month against St. Louis and didn’t practice on Tuesday, would be ready for limited action against the Broncos tonight at Arrowhead Stadium.

“He’ll play sparingly,” Edwards said. “He’s not going to start. He’ll come in on third downs.”

Thanks for the info Jene. I am stuck between Johnson and A. Brooks for my last LB spot.

Brooks may not see much of the field this week, even though he's practiced and not on the injury report. Tough decision. Might roll with Johnson here and hope he holds up and gets three or four tackles or a PD. That was more than Brooks was doing recently as a starter anyway.

How will Johnson's playing time affect Fox?I'm a little concerned that the nice tackle numbers will go down significantly. I'm going to have to choose between Fox, Torbor, Spikes and Wimbley for the last LB spot....

Spikes lost me my game last week (would have won if I have played any of the other three). On the other hand Jags have a bit more of a run game which should give more opportunity to Spikes. Wimbley will always be hit and miss and I'd really like to see more of Torbor before I commit - I'm anyway playing Pierce...

So - will Fox's production decline today - if yes - then I'll be going with one of the other guys.

Last week all but 2 of his tackles came on downs with 10 or more yards (2 1st 10, 3 2nd 10/11, 1 3rd 1, 1 3rd 6, 1 3rd 10). 2 of the 2nd and 10/11 were obvious passing situations - which indicates that if DJ were in in that game Fox might only have had 4 tackles....

hmmmm

I don't think you can trust Spikes or Torbor off the strong side. Wimbley has some nice potential coming off the edge against the Bengals, and he may be just as likely to get 3-4 tackles as the rest and has some big play value. I'd probably stick with Fox, though, as there's no guarantee DJ will finish the game. My recommendation to go with DJ above was due to the possibility that Brooks sees less than 10 plays.I like your analysis and breakdown of the passing down situation there but Fox is probably the safest play of the four still.

The only positive about Spikes in this is that Torbor played SLB against the Jags last week and got his tackles in the run game - I'd guess the Jags will be playing with a lead and will run the clock down or at least need to run a lot since their receivers can't catch the ball to save their livespaycheck.

That is at least an outside chance of Spikes getting production.
