Deshaun Foster (1 Viewer)

What do you think here? I have him in my lineup this week and FBG's cheatsheet has me second guessing myself. The Rams rush D is horrible giving up 100 yeard games to guys like Maurice Morris last week. The Rams are allowing an average of 143 yards against and a touchdown a game.

Foster is terrible. He hits the holes practically walking and looks confused once the ball is handed to him. He is significantly overrated. I would get rid of him at any cost.

Don't know his ranking but if it has a "1" in front of it, it is way too high. He should start being phased out soon IMO, and just hasn't done anything to warrant a higher ranking.

Exaggerate much? Is he splitting carries with Lorenzo Neal now too?Back to the OP: The splitting of carries with DeAngelo, combined with the fact that he hasn't been overly productive at any point this year, offsets the potential matchup advantages. But he still gets carries and this is one week where he has a decent chance to be a moderately productive start.

Get stuck in the past often? He is terrible. He has no explosiveness what-so-ever. He makes terrible cuts. Williams looked explosive and elusive. Foster often looks like he had a few too many Fosters.

It should be pointed out that the Panther's run game in general looks horrible. D-Will looked no better during the Monday Night game than Foster. This situation reminds me a lot of the Bears run game.

I admit Foster isn't very good, but Williams could barely get out of the backfield on monday. He certainly looked no better than Foster. I expect them to split carries at varying percentages from here on out, and that Foster will be a risky play against all but good matchups, but he still has some value in a lot of leagues. Is that stuck in the past? Then so be it.I just don't think responding to posts about his value this week with hyperbole like "get rid of him at any cost" have any value around here when he clearly is not totally worthless this week.

Excellent! If you would have added that Hoover is now the GL back and Foster is mired in a three headed RBBC with Williams and the afformentioned Hoov, you'd have gotten a "10".Solid effort, though. I look forward to reading more from you. Keep up the good work!

Does anyone see Hoover getting more carries in that offense? I'm not expecting him to have a huge fantasy impact, but on Monday night he seemed to get some carries in critical situations. He had the TD and I believe there were a couple of third down runs that he was in for.

He didn't look amazing, or make me think there is a new starting back there, but I thought it was interesting that he got some of those critical carries.

Any thoughts?

He is the short yardage and GL specialist. He is also utilized out of the backfield in passing situations. He does not have any fantasy value on his own, but he has ended Foster's FF value by robbing him of TD's and receptions.

Thanks for the input. I know Foster has been less than spectacular this year but I was in transit and did not know that he split carries Monday night. That explains things.

It's like a crusade for you, isn't it? Did Foster spit on your Mom?I mean I agree with you and all, but gee wiz.... :D

No, Gaytes is a crusade. This is just observation. ;)

I was wondering many of the same things and found it interesting that Carolina has the best matchup according to some, yet he is ranked very low this week by the same....

This is what is hard as a fantasy owner....I know FBG will also give us projections, but this is the perfect classic case scenerio of not really knowing what advice they are giving us other then if you have any of the guys ranked ahead of him, start them instead.....would be nice to hear some comments as to why Car has the best matchup but the "main guy" is not ranked accordingly.........like we think it is a great matchup but it looks like Williams is taking over, etc.....

seems like FBG can cover themselves both ways with this one.....we told you they had a good matchup.....but then we also didn't rank him very high........looking for something to put this decision over the top....the info or lack of info from FBG here makes it almost more difficult....

matchups indicate to play him.....rankings indicate maybe not.....

what makes it worse is that for many, he is probably a "flex" option....and not only are we maybe thinking of playing a RB below him, but maybe a WR instead.....

would maybe be nice in these cases where the ranking doesn't match the mathcup that we get some comments from the "pros" as opposed to just numbers..... something like some of the above posts.....

Carolina is not as good as they were last year. The offence isn't as open. The running game is not clicking and Foster is not as quick as everyone thought he was.

He does look slow and isn't making the proper cuts.

All this adds up to is a mediocre fantasy RB with the odd good game here and there.

A decent #3 RB but poor #2.
