Deshawn Wynn (1 Viewer)

Looking at Deshawn Wynn's numbers, I see that his carries over the last 3 weeks have gone from 2, to 12, to 13. That steady increase in carries gives me the impression that they like what they are seeing, and want to see more of it. Last week Wynn had 13 carries for 78 yards and a TD. While not spectacular, I think Green Bay would be content to get a performance like that from their starting RB on a weekly basis.

Wynn will start again this week and another 20/80/1 type of game could, in my opinion, entrench him as their starting RB. Green Bay is home this week against Washington, and the field is wet with more rain likely. I think Wynn gets a big workload in a ground attack, ball control type of game and plays a major role in a Green Bay victory leaving no doubt about who the #1 RB is in Green Bay.

Wynns numbers this week: 22/104/2

good post, but Wynn wont get those numbers against The Redskins (#7 in run defense according to footballoutsiders.com) . . .

Cramps.

As a Gator homer I would not be caught relying on Wynn. I hate the term injury prone but this guy leaves more practices and games for reasons like cramps, dehydration, sore <insert body part here> than anyone I've ever seen before. He is an absolute prime candidate to leave the game in the 1st or 2nd quarter each and every week.

You are correct. (edited my post) Last week Wynn had 13 carries for 78 yards (6.o avg) and a TD.

Neighbor's a huge Gator fan, had the exact same thing to say about Wynn. I dropped him for Rhodes, and not looking back. Much.

With Reggie Bush out for six weeks is there any chance that Wynn steps up to the plate and adds something to the Saints offense?

It's impossible to say at this point. It seems that some rb emerges from the Saints backfield every year when Reggie Bush goes down with his annual injury...It's like clockwork.I would keep an eye on Wynn because the Saints don't seem to have a lot of faith in Pierre Thomas as an every down back. Beyond that Thomas himself isn't the most sturdy rb in the NFL and Ivory is already out with an injury. If you had room I would stash Wynn and hope for the best.

ivory is expected back in a week or two at the most.

so, Ivory is the guy to target then?

Isn't Ivory's game quite different from Bush's? It seems to me that Wynn would be a better fir in the Bush role.

from what i've seen of ivory - preseason is all there is to go by - he's more in the mold of pierre than he is of reggie. however, he certainly has
. he may be used like bell was last year and that is certainly worth rostering.

Ivory is the only backup worth a roster spot IMO but I guess that depends how deep your league is. There is talk on local radio of the broken bone being to the small bone and that it is possible to be back from this injury in as little as 4 weeks. Still 4 weeks is a long time in fantasy football when you need to cover points.

Wynn cut.Betts is Pierre's back-up - per Roto.
& So the Saints are going with just 2 HB's?Not sure if Ivory is supposed to practice today, but I think he's out for another couple weeks at least. No RB3, or are they bringing someone else (PJ Hill?) in?

Yes until Ivory is back next week. Remember Ivory beat Betts out of the gig which is why Betts was cut in the first place.EDIT: The Bleachreport article I linked below says he may play against Atlanta. I am not sure if this is true or not.

However, fantasy owners will have to compete with 2010 preseason hero Chris Ivory. In four preseason games, Ivory amassed 222 total yards of offense (although his receiving yards—76— came on one play) with two touchdowns. He certainly is no Bush. Ivory is built more for short-yardage situations than anything else.

That is the bad news for Thomas owners.

The good news is that Ivory is completely unproven. He did get injured in the fourth preseason game and was expected to miss three weeks with that injury, but that time frame now has elapsed and he could see action this weekend against Atlanta.

If you have room on your roster to stash a player, Ivory should clear waivers in your leagues this week. He would not be a bad speculative pick-up.

(KFFL) The New Orleans Saints have released RB DeShawn Wynn, reports Mike Triplett, of The New Orleans Times-Picayune.
So that settles it. Those of us looking to snag Wynn up and in the hopes that he carries us to the 2007 Fantasy Football Championship are going to have to look elsewhere. What the heck... I'm gonna be silly and grab the Packers 4th string back... that Ryan Grant guy. All of the other players in my league will probably have laugh at that one.
