**Detroit at Minnesota** (-6) (52.5) (1 Viewer)

Mathematically that wasn’t even a decision. Both the reward and the probability of success are way better if you go for that 4th and 4.

You miss the FG, you give them 7 yards. You make the FG, they still have plenty of time to win with a TD.

You miss the 4th down conversion, you at least don't give them yards. You make it, game over.....

There is no comparison.

The level of stupid shown by Campbell is off the charts. Can we now all agree that analytic LOSES you games?
So these idiots pass on kicking FGs twice go for it on 4th and fail. They then stupidly try a much longer FG and fail. All of that costing them a win.

There were no analytics in play there. That was pure asininlytics.

there were a few questionable decisions in the 4th quarter

MCDC is a good coach in a lot of different areas but hopefully his in game decision matures

right now he's below average in that one aspect

He did go for it in a couple situations that ended up as TDs instead of FGs early in the game.

yeah it's hard for me to be too critical

feel like he's done a helluva good job to field a team that is competing so hard every week

I think I’d rather almost punt it there and pin the Vikes back on their own goal line with no TOs needing 60 plus yards to get a FG to tie than have Seibert try a 56 yard field goal there

he has shown absolutely nothing in the last two years that warranted that decision - not a good K beyond 48

He has done a great job and I fully supported his aggressiveness in every 4th down play. Except that last one. There is zero excuse for that call. The offense has a better chance to convert, and both results of pass/fail are far superior to the results of a pass/fail of the FG attempt. With with our Kicker was graciously a 50-50 shot, probably more like a 25-75 shot. A punt was a smarter play than the damn FG attempt.

Yes and no. Got to admit you have a problem before you can change it. In tight games the head coach's decision making is critical.
It was a hard decision about the FG. But going for the FG went against what we had done all game.
Calling a timeout for Minnesota was just dumb and the third time Campbell has done it and it has bit us all three times.

He admired postgame it was the wrong call & he regrets it

He’s gotta do a better job managing end games

wins/losses are a knife edge in the NFL - the players did enough to make this game winnable today

It's never easy with this team.
Understatement of the century.
I've been waiting 60 years for them to prove me wrong. And they still haven't.
My earliest memories don't go quite that far back (Tommy Kramer) but yeah. Most successful yet cursed when they need to come through team in professional sports.

I watched Greg Landry lead the team with Lem Barney on defense

Lions' RBs Week 3 snap counts and touches (per @PFF):
  • Jamaal Williams 35 (22)
  • D'Andre Swift 32 (10)
  • Craig Reynolds 13 (7)
Swift (ankle) was limited in practice this week and reportedly picked up a shoulder issue in Week 3.
