*** Detroit Lions @ Cleveland Browns (1 Viewer)

can anyone give me any info on brian calhoun? I assume he's hurt since his name hasn't come up in either of the Lion's games
he got a couple of carries in the second half and got stuffed. can't tell much from that just yet. As I said, however, Arlen Harris is the man to take as a back up to KJ. ESPECIALLY in ppr leagues.

A few questions since I missed the game.1. Who's this Arlen Harris guy and is he worth anything in a dynasty league?----5. Daniel Bullocks for Dynasty IDP, yay or nay?
1. He was 3rd behind Faulk and SJax at St. Louis...so he's a martz guy all the way. It looks to me like he's definately going to get some playing time, and will be the 3rd down back at least. I don't know about a dynasty league, but any KJ owner should grab him now if possible...and anyone else in a ppr league should as well. 5. Dynasty IDP? Absolutely. he's looked like a man among boys and will be starting by midseason, if not Sept. 10.

My observations on the Browns...

1) They have a solid Defense and great LB depth, so much in fact that 2 of my favorite LB's Speegle and Unk may not make the team, but they have little DL depth and the CB's after the top 3 are blowing assignments left and right.

2) Pool and Jones are about neck and neck in the safety race, but both are playing really well.

3) I know it's only preseason, but Baba does not look like the NT of the future, he does look like the DE of the future though. Although he is pretty strong, he can't engulf 2 blockers like Washington does. He can penetrate really well on passing plays though, and looks pretty dominate when taken on by 1 blocker.

4) Harrison and for that matter Vickers, both saw the ball before Suggs and Green. Harrison got over 100 total yards with limited playing time. Vickers got exactly 1 carry and it was a 3 and short play. They actually took Droughns off the field and brought Vickers in. He got the first down. It looks like Suggs and Green may both be traded.

5) Frye looked good. He did have a boneheaded interception, but he's showing good pocket presence and did really well avoiding the pass rush. The fumble happened when a pass rusher hit Fryes arm while throwing. I wouldn't put that one on him. Now to the interception, the broadcasters for the Browns put the Int on Frye saying he made a throw across the body to the middle of the field while on the run, I was thinking when it happened that he was trying to lead Northcutt and didn't see the safety, but a reporter on the sideline heard Frye and Cutt talking after the play and it sounded like Frye was expecting Cutt to turn it up and Cutt stopped short. After taking all that in, I think Frye put the ball where he wanted to, but made a bad read on the safety. Cutt read it right and stopped short.

6) Cribbs had a TD return called back because of a penalty and unknown Mosley has a return for 44 yards. For the second week in a row, Browns special tems look pretty solid.

7) Dquell had 1 tackle, 1 assist, 1 Int and 1 FF in limited playing time

8) Browns had 3 sacks in the game, all of them were made by rookies.

9) Ross Tucker looked pretty solid this week and Ephriam looked solid at center last week. I'm not as worried now if we don't get a another center in a trade.

I am a Browns fan, so you can take it however you want. but I tried to be as objective as I could

Chris, nice post, I'll hopefully add on.

That Vickers carry was in the first quarter, and inside the red zone, I believe inside the 10yd line. He brings some good things to the table, like Harrison, because he can also catch the ball well.

Harrison has been fantastic all summer. I've been giving this guy his props alot. He played in all four quarters this game offensively, running with 1st/2nd/3rd teams and also special teams. He's going to be extremely important to the team this year and in the future. He is probably worth a spot in large roster PPR leagues too. I see him getting near 10 touches a game with TD potential whenever he does, could be a good bye week replacement in deep leagues.

It seems odd about a Browns offense, but I think they finally have it going in the right direction. Carthon is using many formations that utilizes their strong areas, like 5-wide w/ double tight end. Braylon probably enters that formation later this year taking out Heiden, making it even harder to defend, and the formation keeps Winslow isolated in different areas. Winslow is really good and I don't even think we've seen anything near what he will bring to the field on a weekly basis.

Carthon seems like he's finding ways to get the playmakers the ball, Winslow/Harrison. Harrison getting draws with the field spread and actually setting up legit screens (ala GB, Pitt, NYG, and some of the other good screen teams) for him were exciting to see.

I also just don't see this Defense getting lit up too much this year. They seem like they will be stout against the run, so much of the success this year will fall onto the secondary. If Daylon/Baxter, or just one of them, get healthy for they year, along with Bodden they can be solid.

Suggs broke some tackles and looked strong. I think the Jets bailed because the Barlow talks heated up after they announced the Suggs deal. Reuben and Harrison are locks to make the team, and I think Green is gonna be here because of his play on special teams. It would not suprise me if they kept 4 RBs though. I think Suggs is the better "RB" between him and Green.
