I happen to see this team being something special this year as long as Stafford stays healthy. But looking at him this preseason, he looks 100%! Although, I am a Lions Fan, so take that how you will.

I love the Lions (born in Detroit) and have been a fan forever. This year is shaping up to be special. But I just don't see them making the playoffs.

Division Winners:

Cards (or Rams) - No wildcard from this division

New Orleans (or Falcons) - At least one wildcard (Falcons or NO, and possibly Tampa)

Dallas (or Philly) - At least one wildcard (Dallas or Philly, and the Giants are a real possibility)

Green Bay (possible wildcards in Chicago and Detroit)

If the Lions don't win the division (I think that's a safe bet), then they are competing with some pretty strong teams for the wildcard. I think the climb is just too much to fight off the Falcons, Philly, NYG, and Tampa. I think they are kind of like the Cardinals, in that the only way they make it is to win the division. But that's tough too because they have to fight GB and Chicago.

Yeah, I'm a Lions fan. Very excited for this year. Schwartz has done a fantastic job so far. SOOOO glad we finally got a defensive-minded coach.

It's what we have lacked....forever?

Personally I like what I see in the preseason, but it IS the preseason, folks. I mean, weren't we like 3-1 or 4-0 in the preseason the year we went 0-16?

But it is encouraging. Suh just looks like a total monster. Once Fairely is up and running and learns the ropes, I cannot wait to see how they torment

offenses.

Overall I can see us going 8-8, or maybe even 9-7, just beating out the Bears for second place, but just missing the playoffs.

Don't know how they'll do overall, but I drafted them as my fantasy defense. I'm looking for Suh and company to provide me plenty of sacks and turnovers.

Dont forget about AVRIL, he could have 14 sacks... Fairley is gonna be a monster also and SUH is phenomenal. Even Corey williams is a beast. Brady was throwing balls in the dirt, he didn't want none of the lions. I say the lions go 11-5. They may lose to Gb once, Sd, NO, Dallas, and one more fluke loss ... I love their team this year and the defense looks scary. Call me crazy but I think it's possible fellas.

Detroit finished 10-6 and make the playoffs as a wild card. Anything less than 10 wins will be a disappointment. They are way better than the Bears and will be competitive with the Pack.

I am expecting 13-3 and/or a Super Bowl berth. I believe the franchise record is still 12 wins from 1991? One playoff win in the last 53 seasons?

I will settle 9 or 10 wins. If Stafford starts 14 or more, it's a lock IMO.

With Stafford healthy, the Lions should win 10 games and make the playoffs. Green Bay will have the Championship hangover, the Bears- really? and my Vikings are going to be .500 teams. As much as this pains me, I believe the Lions will go to the 2nd season this year, but not the Superbowl. :banned: :banned: :banned: :banned: :banned: :banned: :banned:

I like the Lions this year, The Bears cant keep getting lucky. I think the Lions finished an easy 2nd in the NFC north. The Bears are pretenders. The Vikes are a mess

Kutta,

How is this year going to be special and them not make the playoffs.

It's playoffs or bust. I will not consider this a special season if they fail to make the playoffs.

Sinrman,

What other teams do you have making the Wild Card over the Lions and what do you feel tne Lions are lacking compared to those teams.

Green Bay proved you don't need a running game to be successful in this league, so I hope that's not it as they have some journeymen RB's behind Best that haven't looked too bad.

I voted they finish as bottom feeders of the division again to even out the hypsters. Didn't Detroit go 3-1 last preseason?

Figure this is as good as anywhere to ask...what's the deal with Jahvid Best? Any feedback from the locals about the possible split of carries this season?

34-30-34.

The Lions are ripping it up. They look like the 99 Rams to me. Stafford is having a preseason just like Trent Green did in 99. He is completing just about every pass and looking razor sharp. Unlike the Rams if Stafford goes down so do the Super Bowl hopes for the Lions.

But that D is scary, Suh is playing like Mean Joe Greene. The Patriots were looking like the best team in the league going into last nights game, but they were man-handled. Brady was rattled last night, you don't see that often. When he throws balls in the dirt like McNabb, he was feeling the pressure on him.

This team CAN win the Super Bowl, I think they turned the corner last year winning their last 4. Thats the way it happens, you build for a couple years with the same results then all of a sudden they start winning and can't be stopped.
