Looks like the best option right now and is hitting better. Romine has good speed, good glove and bats left handed. WTHMachado should win the 25th man going away, Romine is my hero so him in CF is fine IMO.

Today's paper copied your idea of Romine in CF.Why not just Andy Romine the CF job and use Machado and possibly Infante as backup IF?
I texted Brad last night and he seemed open to the idea.Today's paper copied your idea of Romine in CF.
Glad to hear someone here has a line to Brad.I texted Brad last night and he seemed open to the idea.
It was by buddy Brad who is a big Tiger fan and season ticket holder....not Ausmus.Glad to hear someone here has a line to Brad.![]()
Not so much for Zimmerman today but how about Sanchez!!! My daughter (just back from the SABR Analytics Conference and flexing her baseball acumen) just texted me in all caps BYE BYE PELFRYjon_mx said:Boyd has looked great.
JV has looked great.
Fulmer has been good.
Norris has been great.
Zimmerman is up today.![]()
Sanchez is fighting for a spot in the pen, which he will get. They will use him as a spot starter and long relief. Zimmerman is a major concern, but by his contract alone is cemented in the starting rotation if healthy. Pelfrey still has an outside shot at the bullpen, but is likely gone. Not so much for Zimmerman today but how about Sanchez!!! USA today following yours & bojang's lead:Norris has the higher upside for sure IMO. Maybe not #1 upside but he has a Cole Hamels thing to him. It's all about health, if he's healthy he's better than Fulmer long-term, but both look to be very good. I think scouts, fans, and fantasy players are sleeping on Norris though, he's got breakout potential.
They both sound very minor but these minor things sometimes do linger on.I haven't seen JD's injury how bad did it look?
Mid foot sprain. Time table tomorrow but JD could still be back opening day. Or the All Star break.jon_mx said:They both sound very minor but these minor things sometimes do linger on.
He has earned a spot in the pen. I hope he does not get the 5th starter spot. But his big contract may influence it.Sanchez says "I aint going nowhere" Tosses 9th straight scoreless inning.
Probably long relief.jon_mx said:He has earned a spot in the pen. I hope he does not get the 5th starter spot. But his big contract may influence it.
I hope JD doesn't have the dreaded Lisfranc.

Been perfect if Gene Lamont was coaching third giving everybody the green light.I don't get the MLB Network, so I watched last night en espanol and it was cool to see Tommy Brookens coaching first too!!
Leyland had the whole gang back together. Jeff Jones as pitching coach. Trammell was a coach as well, bench coach I believe.I don't get the MLB Network, so I watched last night en espanol and it was cool to see Tommy Brookens coaching first too!!
Oof. He's probably out until the end of May, that stings.I hope JD doesn't have the dreaded Lisfranc.
I keep seeing 3-4 weeks.Oof. He's probably out until the end of May, that stings.
On the plus side that makes Jones the full-time starter instead of potentially being sent to the minors in-lieu of platooning. I am hoping the 4 week diagnosis is closer. Jones should have been the starter regardless and is our best option to win this year. RF will be interesting. No Moya please. I can't stand to watch him play defense. Collins is the best choice and I think the OF will be defensively pretty good.Oof. He's probably out until the end of May, that stings.
Crazy thing is, other than a dropped ball in the sun, Presley has had a really good training camp. I was texting with my daughter and she thinks Moya may be the sub for JD, but I wonder if, if its only a few weeks, if Presley isn't the guy.On the plus side that makes Jones the full-time starter instead of potentially being sent to the minors in-lieu of platooning. Yeah that's until he can resume baseball activities. I'd say six weeks is the best case scenario and that injury is just killer, he won't be right all year.I keep seeing 3-4 weeks.Oof. He's probably out until the end of May, that stings.
It is the lis franc ligament so I doubt he will be the same all year. Give him another year on the cheap right now...Doctor Detroit said:Yeah that's until he can resume baseball activities. I'd say six weeks is the best case scenario and that injury is just killer, he won't be right all year.
Things are looking better on that front. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2017/03/25/cabrera-back-lineup-sunday/99618258/Cabrera may not be ready for opening day either.
I am not optimistic, but here's hoping someone does so they aren't tempted to rush JD back. The current timeline seems too aggressive already.Things are looking better on that front. http://www.detroitnews.com/story/sports/mlb/tigers/2017/03/25/cabrera-back-lineup-sunday/99618258/
As far as J.D. goes, this will be somebody's chance that would have not been there otherwise. Lets hope whomever it is makes the best of their extended look.
Will be interesting to watch this. Great arm. I can't imagine his stupidity in the field/at the plate/in the clubhouse bodes well for pitching though.Gose going to pitch and play outfield.
Yes, no real downgrade at the #9 spot.Gose already hits like a pitcher so that should be a smooth transition.
My biggest concern coming into the season is the K-Rod we started to see at the end of last season is a sign of things to come, which will make the bullpen a complete disaster. And I don't think Ausmus believes Jimenez is even an option as being this years closer.Anthony Borbely said:Joe Jiminez sent to minors, Mark Lowe cut.
I dunno. I've never seen Gose look this good.Gose already hits like a pitcher so that should be a smooth transition.
I think they want Rondon to be plan B and if it all goes to #### then Jimenez can get a taste later in the season. I'm still rather annoyed about Jimenez starting in the minors and hope we're all wrong about the rest of the pen.My biggest concern coming into the season is the K-Rod we started to see at the end of last season is a sign of things to come, which will make the bullpen a complete disaster.
