Deuce McAllister (1 Viewer)

Was last season his absolute ceiling given Bush's presumed maturation in his role and the Saints offense performing off the charts in '06? Or can he at least maintain his '06 yardage and TD levels? Can he carry the load as a RB2 this year if you choose to go RB/WR/WR or RB/Manning/WR in your first three picks?

He was coming off a torn ACL.Bush is awful at running between the tackles. He should be even better this year. Deuce should be great value.

I believe '06 were the best numbers Deuce sees for the rest of his career. How much his numbers dip can be debated. I just don't see Bush getting LESS touches than last year and also cannot see McAllister being MORE effective.

? No way. Better than 1000/10 despite all the touches Bush will get and NO having a record-setting year on offense? They have quality players in place, but this aint the Colts. I really like McAllister, but doubt he'll crack either number this year. Re. Bush, I suspect he will learn to dance less this year and be a better overall runner, now that he learned the hard way he's not playing Stanford Tech anymore.

The N.O. offense looks good and Deuce/Bush is a great 1-2 punch. I like Deuce to be solid again 1000/10 unless the N.O. DEF drops off sharply. Playing from behind would increase Bush's role dramatically and reduce Deuce(pun) to a short yardage/GL back. But I don't see too many teams shutting down N.O. so S. Payton will continue to call wide open plays that Brees can execute well. I too think Deuce is great value in '07.

I see no reason to expect Deuce to be used less, or to be less productive this season.
Did you see that TD catch Bush made in the playoffs where he left the entire Bears D. look like they were wearing cement shoes? A RB with the ability to take a potentially stalled drive and turn it into 6 pts in a heartbeat is a great thing to have on the field. I can't argue with you as far as Deuce not being less productive this year when he gets touches but I see one GLARING reason he could be used less. Bush.

I don't think anyone will argue what Bush brings in terms of the big play especially as a receiver. Still, Deuce will do the grinding as Bush is better used coming out of the backfield. Both will have their roles and both will be productive in those roles, IMO.

I see Deuce with the same NFL and Fantasy production this year!

He out-performed Bush on every rushing front last year and the New Orleans brass will continue to utilize him for at least two more years.

I agree Bush is more explosive, but he'll explosive all the way through the season if he isn't beaten up by the end of the regular season. I see him getting more carries than last year (154, up to maybe 185-190 this year), but I don't see him being a 240-250 carry back because I really think he'll be less effective. Allowing him to keep the reception totals and get out in the open is a great way to use him with an effective option like Deuce in the backfield. I see Bush at around 185 / 800 and 80 / 700 with 8-10 TD. Duece does lose some carries, (244 last year down to about 220), but he's still great at the GL. Duece for about 220 / 930 with 7-8 TD. If Deuce gets 1100 AP yards and about 8-9 TD, I would take that as an upper tier RB #2.

I think that there's enough offense to go around. Last year, Deuve got 275 touches and was plenty productive with them. I think that another year removed from his injury he can increase his ypc a bit too.Bush had 243 touches, and wasn't nearly as productive rushing as receiving, with only 3.6 ypc. Now, LT2 had a similar ypc his first season so I'm not trying to say that Bush won't be a good runner. However, I haven't seen anything to suggest that there's going to be a drastic shift in the splits. Maybe Bush will get a bit more, maybe they'll swap, and Bush will get 275, but it's just not that significant. Deuce is still going to get the ball - he's darn good, he's being paid a lot of money, and he and Bush have been able to be on the field at the same time, meaning that you don't have to take McAllister out of the game plan to get Bush on the field.

Ted Lange as your Bartender said:

Deuce says he's totally healed from the ACL this season. No reason he won't be huge this year.

I'm of the opinion Deuce continues to be a fantasy factor with solid RB#2 production this season. Their projected SOS vs. the run (sorry, not from FBG, but another good source) is 4th best in the first half of the season, 11th in the second half.....it's favorable.

I won't automatically predict that Bush gets fewer carries than last season, but with 1/3rd of last seasons carries going for a loss, it wouldn't surprise me.

The SOS against the pass is also favorable in the first half of the season, but gets much tougher in the second half. Despite that, they return all of their young nucleus of WRs and upgrade the TE position with E. Johnson. Maybe not the offensive juggernaut of the Colts, but they can and should maintain their high level of performance.

With a mid-4th round ADP, Deuce represents great value for teams in the back half of a twelve team serpentine draft who can score a stud RB and two stud WRs with their first three picks.
