Devin Hester the WR. (1 Viewer)

His last 3 weeks he is getting more and more involved.

He really starting to run some crisp routes.

Eagles 3 27 1 1 15

at Lions 5 66 1 1

at Falcons 6 87

Is this a guy that you think will be this much involved the rest of the way?

He definitely looked solid yesterday. Running some great routes and catching with his hands.

It's funny because you can tell DB's are completely scared of him blowing by them deep that they give him an extra feet of space. In the meantime he's using that extra space to learn the nuances of route running and gaining more and more confidence by the week.

We'll begin to see if Lloyd practices this week. If and when Lloyd is active, how does the Bears WR corp begin to look? Are Lloyd and Davis starters and Hester and Booker 2nd string?

I need a bye week filler and am considering Hester.

Could he be ready to break out as a WR? It seems Ortons upswing started once Hester started producing

Mason is my safer option.....but Hester could have a breakout game.

If Lloyd doesn't play, which it looks like he might not since he missed Wed.'s practice, I think Hester is approaching must start status as a low WR2. The match-up vs. the Vikings less than average pass defense looks to be a very good one. I think Hester offers much more than Mason.

A thrill to watch this guy play. He seems to be progressing well as a wr. The team really seems to think a lot of him too and he's getting a lot of love in a surprisingly strong passing offense. Plus, Hester is always a possibility to take it to the house on kick returns. I'm probably plugging him in over Mason this week as well. Mason SEEEEMS safer but if you look at the targets over the last few games, maybe not. Curious...Has anybody ever scored a Kick, Punt and Receiving TD in the same game? Heck, he could potentially run one in too on an end-around...

Hester's been the #16 WR in my PPR leagues over the last three weeks. Forget bye week filler, he's about to bust out IMO.

Rashied Davis may not hold on starter status. It's his 4th season and he's never shown all that much. His YPC does nothing to inspire fear in opposing DBs, whereas Hester is too much of a speed threat to not have on the field as often as possible. I believe Davis also has a tweaked knee, although he is practicing.

He scored a 20 yd TD against Philly and not much more.

His last 2 games where he racked up some receptions were against Detroit and Atlanta's rookie corners.

I'm wondering if he's not worth much more than an occasional big play against real defenses.

No doubt he's progressed but you really think his route running is that much better?

Actually yes. I agree that he's probably not going to score a lot of TDs, but his routes look a lot crisper the last few weeks than I remember from last year. Also somebody mentioned it above, but defenders are giving him A LOT of cushion in fear of getting burned deep.

I wouldn't call his routes "crisper", but defenses are definitely giving him space to move as they are afraid of his speed and big play ability.

Why do people still talk about Brandon Lloyd like he's an actual NFL rec? I have no idea how he is even on an NFL roster.

As far as Hester goes, I think he's improving, but will never be a consistent enough to start on a regular basis in 10-12 team leagues. (IMO)

He absolutely is if your league starts 3 wrs + a flex & gives points for return yards.
