Dexter McCluster (1 Viewer)

Dexter McCluster is probably available on most wires.

I know it was college an all but he totally destroyed Tennessee and a few other teams his senior year.

He had chronic injuries his rookie year.

This year he seems to be somewhat involved in the offensive game plan.

Last game was 5/27 rush and 6/39 and a td rec.

Week before was 1/4 rush and 5/37 rec. He is listed as wr/rb on Yahoo.

I think he's an interesting player that may be worth a roster spot in a 12 man league. I'm wondering what the pool's thoughts are on him.

If he can consistently bring in 4-6 catches per week, he's good for bi-week or flex at least. If he plays his upside is probably 6 catches, 100 yards rush/rec and a couple TD's

I have no clue whether he'll be used, or how consistent. But he's capable..

Much better football player than fantasy player. I don't see him having much value in his current situation.

I wouldn't want to start him unless I'm in a pinch (unless things change - maybe an injury to Jones or Charles) but he seems like a great guy to own in Best Ball where you never have to put him into your lineup, but can reap the benefits of a potential 8 catch game or something like that. He's definitely gonna get touches, but I think they're gonna be hit and miss.

A guy I'd love to have on my bench, but hope I never have to start.

I got him for $1 in my auction this weekend. His FF value is limited but the fact that he is listed as a RB/WR on yahoo means he provides depth at two positions.

Hopefully he is involved enough in the passing game that if I do have to put him in the lineup he can be a decent flex in PPR.

If your league is a PPR league that awards return yardage I think he's a very reasonable addition.

I'm not making a physical comparison, but he has Darren Sproles like upside.

In my league that had the above format Sproles put up a couple top 20 RB seasons (in fact I think he finished top 5ish a couple years ago).

Arenas will steal some return yardage and the KO rule will dampen that value as well but, again, I think he's a very reasonable FLEX play in this type of league.

Moeaki going down should bump his targets up somewhat as well.

4-6 catches a week would give him between 64-96 catches on the year. I'd be stunned if he was anywhere close to this.

Big fan since he was at Ole Miss. I think that there's upside here due to Moeaki's injury and the remaining TEs are mostly blocking types. Not sure that he'll be a factor w/ the reduced KO rules and will most likely share KO + punts w/ Arenas. He should be used here and there in the backfield, but I think about 10-12 touches per game might be about it.

4 for 42 rush

5 for 25 receiving

4 for 92 Returns

But he did have a fumble

In return yardage leagues I like him.

Also had more carries than Thomas Jones ... Any chance he is the Handcuff for Charles (if injured) and Jones would remain the power back.

I think he is most definitely the handcuff for Charles. I really like Mccluster and have taken some heat for having him to high in my dynasty rankings, but yesterdays game is an example of what he can do on a regular basis, except with more upside as he gets more comfortable in the Chiefs offense. He wont average 10 yards per carry going forward, but he will avareage more than 5 yards per reception. He likely wont end up being more than a flex starter in non return yardage leagues this year unless Charles gets hurt, but he is certainly worth a spot on most rosters for his upside alone.

good to be back:banned:

What is his offical position? WR or RB?
I believe it varies based on where you play. On FBG, they have him listed as a WR, but in my league (on MFL) he is listed as a RB. I picked him up, but I would have much rather had him as a WR option than a RB...but different people have different hopes for where he is listed.

Worth a spot in a PPR league. Has the potential to break a big play at any time and if he can get 4 or 5 catches a game he will put up respectable points. Still best used in a best ball format.

I don't know if he's FF startable this season. I hope that next season they will get a new coaching staff with the ability to use McCluster how he should be.

FBG has him as Rb. CBSSportslne has him as WR. Does anyone know whats up?. He has more value to me as RB than WR

NFL site also lists him as WR

The way I see it he can play RB or WR and teh Chiefs will be behind this year, throwing and by that I mean dinking/dunking.

So in 1.0 PPR and formats that permit him as both RB & WR he looks promising.

In one of my leagues we are WR heavy, we can start up to 4wr and only 1 or 2 RBs. I am considering McCluster here. He is listed as WR on CBS. When question they claim they contacted the Chiefs directly and he is correctly listed as a WR. I f use him as my wr4 it could be a pretty good advantage for byes or matchups being the 3rd down back. And seeing how KC is, there will be a lot of 3rd downs
